Last Year at this time...

Recommended Posts

Things looked different didn't they? For me at least they did. I had no hope of losing weight. I was tired all the time. I was in a relationship that didn't make me happy. I was CRANKY! Now I am so much more fit. I am also hopeful about making it to goal and losing another 50lbs in 2008!

Happy New Year Everyone!

I thought about resolutions and my number one resolution for a long time has been to loose this weight. Yes, I still have more to lose but I am not so pre-occupied now that I have my band because I know it will come off. Happy New Year.:whoo:

Yes this year is so different than the last. I now have my band that I fought hard to get this year!!! I went to classes and learned as much as I could about it, and how it works. I learned that the success of this BAND is not itself but how I use it. In other words it is ALL up to me and no one else whether this tool will be effective in my weightloss.

I am well on my way I know that the next 20 pounds and I will be under 100 pounds to reach my goal and that was a huge goal for me....HUGE!!

I wish I had done this 4 years ago, but wishing is futile. I have done it now!! I am proud to be a Bandster and I will tell anyone who wants to listen about it and how it is the most amazing journey. Healthy feel so much better than being fat.....and tired!!

I love HOW HEALTHY FEELS.....it is coming and I have had tastes of it these past 4 weeks...:whoo:

Congrats to all of us who are well on our way!!

This YR is SOOOOOOOOO much different. I know I won't wake up with a hangover or feel like a slug till Jan 3rd. For the first time since college I went to the gym today and will go tomorrow. Making dinner tonight for DH / Brother & Sister in Law, I will have a glass maybe 2 of wine...but not a bottle or 2. Next yr I hope to put my size 4's on that have been collecting dust in the back of my spare bdr closet....Happy NYR to all & to me!!!

Last year at this time I felt utterly hopeless. I had heard about the Band and wanted it, but saw no way my Hubby would go for it (self-pay). Then I went to a seminar in March, talked him into it and had the procedure in May. My body is completely different now and I feel SO GOOD. Yes, I skipped a few workouts and had my share of goodies over Christmas, but I'm back on track today. My only treat today is a Bailey's and coffee that I'm having right now...guilt free!

All the best to every one of you in the NEW YEAR. :-)

I've just started the process of getting evaluated for lapband. I've had my blodwork, confirmed insurance covers this procedure and have all my appts lined up. It looks good for probably March. I find myself not caring what I eat and have gained almost 20 lbs since October. Did anyone else go through this before their surgery? I'm so happy about getting the surgery. I can't wait. The doctor said I was the perfect candidate for it. Now I need my nutrition consult x2/sleepstudy/cardiology/GI workup/psychiatrist then done.

Suggstions so I don't weigh 300lbs by the time it comes??? I'm now at 240 and was 228 prior to looking into getting this done

The funny thing about this year is that each christmas I have a huge party at my place and last year I was crazy sweating, like I had some serious issues. This year, I didn't even get warm. Guess I was just sweating because I was fat!

This time last year I was in an XL for the first time in 10 years. I was more than happy. I had no idea that the best was yet to come! I wish as well I had gotten the band a lot sooner! :scared:

This is the first time in over 10 years my New Year's resolution will NOT BE to loose weight!!

Last year at this time I was really really fat, just had surgery about three weeks prior and was realizing that this is it, do it or don't.

I did it, I'm not fat anymore. Not sure I thought this day would ever come.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
