Nervous and Excited

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone!

This is my first time to these boards, as I have just recently decided to have lap band. I have not even started the approval process yet, but I work for an insurance company and know it is relatively painless. I am scared, though. I'm 23, and have not been admitted to the hospital since I was born. I am also saving for the $3000 I will need to pay my deductible/coinsurance, and that's not easy. Hopefully this is the right thing for me. I look forward to everyone's support through my progress. Have a great day!

Hey!

Congradulations on your decision to go ahead with this. You will do great! I just had mine done on the 27th and it was the best thing I could have done for myself. Let me know if you have any questions or if I can help you with anything. Keep us posted on your progress and welcome to LBT.

Hugs....

Hi Alex my name is Jeremy. Im 22 and decided to have the surgery about 2 months ago. I have just started day 5 of the pre diet, which consist of 12 oz of pudding a day. My surgery is on the 15 of January. I though we might could keep in touch since we are so close in age.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
