AAAAAAAAChew!!!!!!!

Recommended Posts

I just had this HUGE sneeze and felt every muscle in my body tighten up (especially around the tummy) and then release. And then it hit me-----Big sneezes with the band????? Does it feel any different???

Two weeks from being banded, and inventing new questions to ask!!!!!! Go figure!

Well... certainly right after surgery... big sneezes are not a fun experience but later on it hasn't felt any different for me. ;)

WARNING!!! Avoid Big Sneezes right after surgery!

I got home from the hospital and had a sneezing fit. Three big, fast sneezes right in a row. Thought I was gonna pass out for sure!!! It happened so fast I couldn't even grab a pillow to hold over my tummy.

Now, sneezes are no big deal.

please forgive my ignorance, but what is there to hurt? I had my gall bladder out laproscopically, and I don't remember any tummy pain in the incision points...

Is it because there is suddenly "extra" stuff in your tummy and your body is still trying to figure out what to do with the new pasenger???

One of the reasons I've been really dilligent about doing my crunches is so that my tummy won't hurt after surgery...

Well, good luck with that! lol.. Actually, you'll have 5 incisions. 4 are small enough you won't notice them much at all. One, the port one will be a bit larger - maybe 1.5 - 2 inches long?? It is where they do the most work and yes, it will be a bit tender to very sore, depending on how gentle (or not) your surgeon is and how much he has to tug and pull once he's in there. A sneeze or very hard coughing is definitely an eye-opener after surgery. A 'cough' pillow/tummy splint is your best friend for these things. (I folded a flat sheet into a compact square and taped it and it served me even better than fluffy pillows. You need the stability, not softness. )

I had a vena cava filter implanted into my mid-abdomen at the same time of my band surgery. OMG, when I sneezed, I thought I had ripped my innards from stem to stern.;):)
