What Happened & What did I Miss..??

I sure wish we could find a way to prevent the psychos from returning with new ID's. This one comes back as male, female, religious, agnostic, newbie, experienced, nurse, techie, non-technical old lady, etc. But you know what - we always figure her out because she can't hide her true nature.

And yeah I need to be around other WLS people too - it keeps me accountable.

True, there is only one of her. Thank goodness. She is pretty easy to spot. That is a good point.

And I was sure that you said the sky was made of pink cotton candy....:)

Nonono... that wouldn't be supportive. The sky is made of CHOCOLATE! :)

Yep, I'm back! Finally got back to Kentucky tonight. I am so freakin' glad to see my computer! I swear I was going through withdrawal!

I have to say, though, that the longer I was away, the more tempted I was to not come back. Once I got through the "must go to LBT" phase, I was amazed by how much less stress I was under. Honestly? The only thing that made me come back is that I have a bunch of amazing friends here now. I'm just trying to convince myself that all the crap will pass, just like it's done in the past. I'm just getting so sick of it.

And btw, it's so great to see all of y'all! I've was staying with my folks from around 12/14 till today. My parents' computer basically crashed (had a MASSIVE amount of viruses on it, according to the tech), so the only opportunity I had to get online was when I had the time to go to the local library or when I could get on my brother's computer when we were in Memphis for Christmas. Either way, didn't have a lot of time (managed to update my sig and check email, but that's about it).

What are the crtiteria for being a "vet"?

I guess you got a sampling of opinions. It seems the consensus is.....it depends on the situation and the person. I guess we all agree that one person's opinion is as valuable as another's and that all support is welcome. I do not think lizards are deemons, however.:) I think they are entirely different species.:)

I am sitting here sipping on pineapple juice. It makes me mad that I can't get any Fiber in my diet. I was munching on a cucumber, tiny little bites and now it feels like I have razor blades in my esophagus.

Welcome back WasA and Lauren. And thank you for the Christmas card, Lauren. I don't do cards. I try to participate as little as possible with anything having to do with Christmas.:huytsao

You're very welcome! This was the first year that I sent out cards. My hand was hurting by the time I finished writing, so I'm not 100% certain that I'll do it again!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
