KarenH 0 Posted January 5, 2008 I have read in several postings that one of the issues after surgery is shoulder pain. Is there a specific reason for this? Can anyone elaborate? Thanks.
Mellis 0 Posted January 5, 2008 shoulder pain is actually a referred pain due to manipulation of the diaphragm.

RapKim 0 Posted January 5, 2008 The shoulder pain I think is the worst part about the whole surgery I was banded on the 13th of December and still get it I'm also still having trouble taking a deep breath and find myself yawning alot but don't worry it will keep improving if it gets really bad use a heating pad it's helped me alot. Also I found if you wear pants that are too tight or sit forward (like hunched over the computer) it can make it worse so try sitting in a leaned back position and wearing sweats when you can. Good luck to you I feel your pain.

catcalico 0 Posted January 7, 2008 I had my surgery on 12/28/2007. I felt REALLY bad for about 3 days - I was sore, tired, and just out of it. Then on day 4, I started to feel much better. I went back to work on day 7 - I still had some of the shoulder/back pain, but it was bearable. Today is day 11 and I feel really good and I am back to my daily routine. The shoulder and back pain has subsided and the swelling from surgery is way down. I never would have thought I would have felt this good today judging by how I felt right after surgery! I am down 12 pounds - Yeah!
