I was banded yesterday 12/27

Recommended Posts

Hello fello Ohio people! I was banded yesterday at Jewish Hospital in Cincinnati, by Dr. Trace Curry.:clap2:

I'm feeling really well, just some discomfort. But that's why they have meds, isn't it!

Anyway.. time to walk and drink.. walk and drink...:flock::flock:

Congrats again JazzyWoman.....hope things are still going well for you. I started the process for lap band surgery. I am on a 6 month supervised diet and am attending the seminar on Feb 11th at St Lukes Hospital in Maumee,Ohio. I am excited to do this and hope I get through the process without alot of road blocks.

I'm down 20 pounds!!! Yay!

My butt isn't as big, nor are my legs.. and my jeans are really baggy!!! I just got the go ahead from my dr to start exercising, so I'm gonna get that going. I also got my first fill, and it's not as restrictive as I had hoped, but I go again in 2 weeks.

Keep working Volemt23!! It is all worth it... the process is harder than the actual surgery.

Thanks so much for the support. I am a little nervous after reading so many different things on here and other websites. Is there one particular site or whatever you stuck with to learn more about surgery and stuff. Just was wondering. I also joined the obesityhelp.com site. Seems to be more local people on there, but still trying to figure that site out. I really enjoy this one,but find myself getting lost easily and confused.I am so happy for you that things are going good. I will keep continuing to keep you in my prayers.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
