theresa0326 0 Posted December 27, 2007 :clap2: Well first off my name is Theresa I am a 29 year old mother of 1 very active lil man who is 4. I am so glad to have found this website I ahve been reading everyones stories and let me say they gave me such hope. I have been overweight allllll of my life tried everything to lose but no luck. I have been going back and forth about this surgery for a while now and think it will be the best decision I have made. I am so excited tomorrow I have my first consult with my doctor and my pulmunologist:biggrin1: so keep your fingers crossed. I am praying it does not take forever to get my insurance to approve all they want is a THS test. MY BMI is 47.3 but I personally have no other problems but my family history is really scary on both sides almost everyone has had a heart attack and hypertension. I am hoping they approve me. I look forward to chatting with all of you congratulations on all of your progress and good luck to the ones in the process.
make33 2 Posted December 28, 2007 Like you, when I began the process I really didn't have many health issues, i.e. sleep apnea, diabetes, hypertension. Other than a little acid reflux, I was good to go--but awfully tired of carrying around all that weight! My mother had diabetes and died from congestive heart failure (220 #) and my dad had diabetes and kidney failure, which he died from (210 #). I also had to prove to my insurance company that I had tried to lose weight in the last years--which I almost laughed at! I provided them with a list stretching back to the 70's when I did pills and shots from a diet doctor (they were legal then)! :rolleyes:Since then everyone knows the roller coaster of dieting we've all gone through--so making a list really makes you know it's been a lifetime of trying! I have never been more happy in my life than I am right now, with real hope for a normal future with plenty of quality!!
