tarajane 0 Posted March 4, 2008 Hi Jachut -yes I remember our meet up, it was great and we should do it again. What day/time suits you? Are you still at uni this year? Mondays and Wednesdays are out for me but the other days are usually doable other than this coming Thurs - Tues, am off to the Gold Coast for a few days. I met with Michellebell this morning and we had a lovely time despite my 2 year old grandaughter needing to go to the toilet 5 ot 6 times in the short time we were at moods - the joys of toilet training!! tarajane 0 Posted March 30, 2008 Posting from another banding website - all are welcome Hi All, I am organizing a get-together for anyone who has had or is thinking of having or who has family and freinds who would like to have a cuppa and chat about our journeys. We have met previously at The Settlement Hotel (see details below) because this venue allows for those that may be on fluids, those that may want to have lunch or alternatively, others like me, who use it as an opportunity to have coffee and cake. Please let me know if you are coming so that I can book a table. I look forward to meeting new friends and catching up with old friends. See you on the 4th May!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! one_elle26 Get Together 4th May 2008 at 1.00pm at The Settlement Hotel South Gippsland Hwy (cnr Camms Rd) Cranbourne 3977 (03) 5996 3300 www.thesettlement. com.au

Hey CCW, I am day 2 post op and would desparately like to talk to other banders in Melbourne. I live in the inner west, about 7k from the city, not sure if anyone else is around the Yarraville/Footscray area. I had Dr Crosthwaite at The Avenue. And as you can see by the time of this post, I am not coping with the pain and discomfort as well as I would like to. I'm just concerned none of it is normal .. looking forward to talking to some locals. regards Batkitty
peek 1 Posted March 30, 2008 Hi Batkitty I live in Eltham, a little way away from you but work in the Docklands. Don't hesitate to post your worries here. There are many here that can help you. Pain from the op is normal. Just keep up with the meds. Remember everyone is different, the pain is temporary only and within days you will be back to normal. Hang in there Kylie
RantingDev 0 Posted April 6, 2008 I'm in Melbourne too! Tecoma to be exact (out near Belgrave). I haven't had the lap band done yet, but I'm very, very seriously considering it. I'm still in the research stage of it.

Hey all, I was thinking of organising a 'night out' in June, July (if we all have enough notice the majority should be able to attend) Anyone interested in meeting in town? maybe Casino or Docklands, maybe Chinatown (maybe not too much rice!) look we can work out the location, just wondering if anyone is up for it. happy to be the go between on dates and scheduling. maybe some from the north can car pool? hope to hear from you all cryss1@bigpond.com
peek 1 Posted May 6, 2008 BatKitty I am interested. Depending on the dates of course (I turn 40 on the long weekend and I am trying to organise a trip away with three of my gf). Don't know when that will be though, so put me down as a tentative.
vanilla_bubble4 0 Posted May 23, 2008 My name is Sarah. I'm 20. I live in berwick as well! I was banded on monday! (19/05/08) at the Valley by Chris Henssman. Am struggling with pain management and stayed an extra 4 days than usual in hospital because of this. Am happy to catch up (once I am all better and off this ridiculous fluids stage!) Hope everyone is doing well :blushing:
tarajane 0 Posted May 23, 2008 Hi Sarah, welcome. I am sure you will get better each day, the first few are the hardest, the shoulder pain being my main problem 5 days post op. I am also in berwick, could be neighbours.

Jachut 487 Posted May 24, 2008 I had no problem with a BMI of 35 and my DH is getting banded in 2 weeks with a similar BMI, in fact the surgeon fudged his height a little just to get him over the line. He wont do it if he doesnt believe the surgery will help, but he thought DH was a good candidate.
jet 0 Posted May 27, 2008 my surgeon told me that i can only expect to lose 50% of what i really need to lose. he says thats the average. but i only read on here the good stories. people who have lost it all. a show of hands for those who are making it and those who dont think they will? if not, why do you think that is.
