Let's Talk Sweets! Yummyyyy Goodness

Recommended Posts

I LOVE and I MEAN LOVE SWEETS! I'm looking forward to people sharing low sugar or no sugar added sweet treats (Recipes and Favs). I have been eating sweets ever since my surgery. I have never stopped eating sweets. I'm a great cook so I make all the sweets myself! From my own Protein Bars to even Yes my own chocolate. I never stopped eating sweets and I still continue to lose weight, I just make a lot of dupes and it's very satisfying ... I'm 11 months postop. Let's get to sharing those tasty treats.

These are no sugar added chocolate cashew butter cups. I have included pecans. I eat two to four of these per day!

The only sweets I allow myself are the Yasso bars and once in awhile a sugar free fudgcicle. I love sweets too! I'd "kill" for a fudge brownie or right out of the oven chocolate chip Cookies. 🍪 🤗😍

Your Cashew cups look delicious! How many calories, fat etc?

Hey, I understand everybody knows their limits! Also miss the Cookies right along with you! I spent a lot of time tweaking recipes to be bariatric friendly. These cashew buttercup like I can eat 2 to 4 of these a day and be fine and I cook big big batches and I don't go back for more so that's some real self restraint to be honest. Let me see I think the calorie content is. I think they are about 100 cal per cashew butter cup. People can adjust them to be lower switching out ingredients.

I try to get my 'sweet' through Protein Snacks, which are processed I know but at least I can be sure I get some protein in and I feel like I have had a treat. Considering, apart from my daily yogurt, everything else I eat is either a raw (nuts, fruit, veg) or made from scratch by me I don't mind the Fulfil or MyProtein snack.

Shop wise, I allow myself dark chocolate such as Lindt with a flavour like chili or raspberry and I have two squares post dinner when I have it. My boss gave me a box of delicious Belgian chocolates recently so yes I indulged, though did share some.

Twice now I have made delicious brownies using dates, yummy and gooey - https://nourishedbynic.com/brownie-protein-bars-nut-free-gluten-free-no-bake/#recipe Couldn't find a seed butter so I adapted and used a spread here that is made out of biscuit (Biscoff) so increases the sugar but by the time I portion it all out there is still not much for the deliciousness it gives (approx 250cal, 25g carb, 10g fat & 10g protein). I try to limit myself to one a day and freeze them.

@FifiLux awesome! I am going to try those brownies! Lindt makes some very goood chocolate. I'm a chocolate connoisseur 😂. I like how you figured out what works for you and what you like and the way that you limit your intake awesome.

Ahhh thank you for the brownie recipe! Oh, I also make "ice cream" from my Protein Drinks in my icreami!

I am a feen with sweets hahaha! I have a sweet treat or 2 every single day. I eat two PB Balls that I make with Natural Peanut Butter, shredded coconut, pure maple Syrup, flavored Protein powder or collagen powder. I have made chocolate covered dates with PB and nuts inside. I make a Protein Ninja creami with all the different flavors, Yasso bars, mini helado pops, I make pudding with fairlife Protein Shake and SF FF pudding mix. I also do eat regular sweets. See's candy, regular ice cream, candy bars. I just track it and allocate the calories for it or not. I just found built puff bars and omg these are amazing!!

I want your recipe! those look dang delish!

I am so glad I'm not the only one who eats sweets every day. I told myself that I was not going to restrict myself from eating sweets, knowing that I like sweets, I didn't wanna set myself up for failure so I include them just as I do Protein and healthy food that I have to eat. OMG I'm going to try your Peanut Butter balls. 🤪😋!

Simplest form for my cups would be to find your favorite chocolate (no sugar added or high coca content), add coconut oil to it for the fats. Microwave it. I work out a lot I'm not afraid of fats. Buy your cup molds, then really have fun with it put whatever you want in it. I try something new every week. Pop in freezer 30 mins. I don't give measurements cause you'll have to tweak it to your dietary thingy things. 😂, @AmberFL

@Mspretty86 ooooo okay! I'm not afraid of fats either. healthy fats are important! I refuse to restrict myself. I still eat fast food, I cant say no to a couple of French fries LOL There are days I cannot lie where I binge like a mofo but its never more than 1 day and I get back on track the next day. I.E today I started my period and I want to munch of anything and everything lol I just want to graze on all things chocolate. But I am eating my healthy sweets and hot coffee. Its helping!

@AmberFL that period hunger is a different beast! I allow myself to indulge as well. Everything in life Ebs and Flows. Some weeks I don't even want to eat, some weeks I'm ravenous. Obesity life long disease we have to manage 😐😐😐😐

I have found I am eating more, probably too many, nuts as my justification at the start was that they were a healthy fat and I was having them on gym days but I have recently noticed that I have slipped back into a bad habit with them of grazing on the whole packet. I am making the conscious decision now to not buy them as often as I am of the simple mindset, if they are not in the kitchen I am not going to the shops just to buy some.

This morning I made a Breakfast of almond croissant bakes - recipe was for 2 but I got 4 so that is next few days sorted :) https://thehappypear.ie/plant-based-and-vegan-recipes/almond-corissant-baked-oats/

In other groups I'm in @AmberFL they rave about them! One chic said she had to refrain from buying them she was finding herself eating more than one a day. Another one said they TAsted like cardboard or chalky to her. You like them?

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Am feeling this right now. My surgery date is 4/1. Sign the consent tomorrow. I feel like I overloaded myself with too much info, too many opinions. Got to the point where I was wondering if I should do this. Then I thought of my reasons for taking this step and that settled my nerves. Still get moments of doubt but am striving forward. Am just going to follow my book from the surgeon. Joined this because I was told by my dietician that I should do this for support

Had a sleeve in 2017, lost over 100 pounds. Had a DS surgery this year (2025) for more sustainable weight loss. 🤞
