I do a cleanse often - I try to do one every few months - and I drink a Smooth Move is one tea I drink and I also do an herbal cleansing tea sometimes. It does not harm the band. At least my doctor said it didn't. I have been doing it all year and no problems either.

Preband I drank Super Dieters Tea, not sure if it is the same thing, but it is supposed to clean you out, basically it is a laxitive. Man, I would drink that stuff before I had a huge fatty meal and 15mins after I ate I was running to the toilet. It was like instant cleansing though, it didn't take all night to "activate." Maybe I was using it wrong, or maybe it isn't the same thing as you are talking about. All I can say is it worked. I was highly tempted to install handle bars on my toilet, but it worked. I guess it was my sick way of thinking it was ok to eat crappy. If the crappy meal only hung around for a few minutes, how much harm could it really do. I did loose about 10lbs taking it, but it never stayed off. Post band it might work, I don't think it would hurt the band, I mean its not like you are swollowing a huge vacuum cleaner hose that is gonna suck your insides out.

Yeah..I use Chinese Dieters Tea. I get it at the Asian grocery store. Whew boy...one cup of that will clean you right out!! I drank 3 cups of it once and OMG...NEVER AGAIN!! If I drink just one cup (using only ONE tea bag) it cleans me out and I don't get cramps. I do it once a month.

well I had 2 previous fills and both times the doc says he wasnt sure if he had gotten it or not, the needle was bent and it hurt. I said I wanted another doc to check me out as I thought maybe my port had flipped. so today he says that i have gained 10 lbs!!! no way I am so freaking premenstrual right now, I tell him I feel bloated. anyhoo, he gives a 3cc fil and I have to say i may have just hit the sweet spot, I feel total restriction in a good way. I eat and feel full and I love it! I should start wseeing the lbs come off now, wish me luck!

Ooohh be careful PMS and your monthly can make you tighter. I often schedule my fills the second week after my monthly. If you start to become too tight and can't get Water down you might want to get a slight unfill!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
