How did Xmas go?

Recommended Posts

I think my xmas went ok. It was my second day of soft foods. I ate a little of the mock souffle that was served at Breakfast (mixture of milk/bread/cheese/salt/pepper), but not much at all compared to what i normally would have had if i hadnt been banded.

Oh and i ate a cookie.. ok so it was a SOFT cookie, but i know that was bad..

Other than that i managed to eat some oatmeal + Protein Shake and chicken broth.< /p>

How did everyone else do today?

PS I go in for my first doctor's appointment tommorrow for my post-op checkup and hopefully have a new updated weight for my ticker. All my scales in my house are looking very promising in their predictions ;)

I was worried about having to explain why I wasn't eating, and do you know that not a single person noticed! I was so surprised!! Let me say though - I did carry a plate for a few minutes while I fed my son. There were a couple of things that I had that weren't the best choices, but overall I didn't do too bad.

I did great. I was banded on 12/21. I was not hungry until yesterday 12/25. The food smelled great for the first time since last week. But I stayed on course.

But OH a Christmas Cookie would have been nice!

Hi all,

I think I did good, I overdid it a little. food tasted sooooo good yesterday. I stuck to the soft stuff, except for carrots, I ate a few raw carrots, I just chewed the heck out of them.

One bite of my nephews cookie. That was it. So no sweets for me.

I did fine . . . except broke off a piece of my FAVORITE sugar cookie . . . and only ate a tiny piece of what I broke off because it tasted like sawdust to me . . . so . . . I wasn't tempted any further . . . which is a GOOD thing. I had to pass on the prime rib I cooked . . .but I poached myself a piece of salmon in chicken stalk . . . which tasted like heaven! I get my first fill one week from today . . . so I'm looking forward to that!

I did very good, but I have told everyone, it is kind of cool all my friends and family and co-workers now I have had it done so they are always asking how I am doing. For xmas I had a very small of sweet pot. and mashed pot. and even smaller amout of my favorite broccoli cassarole minus the chunks.I wasn't even tempted.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
