Non scale victory-bubble- bubble

Recommended Posts

Before my band I had gotten so fat I took only showers. It was too hard getting in and out of the bath tub. I was really missing long hot bubble baths. Well they are back! It is funny how you start doing certain things again without even realizing it. Like bubble baths, and wearing jeans with zippers. I was soaking in the bubbles today when i realized how much I loved this band. Well I am off to work a double shift at the shelter so Merry Xmas all. Donna:whoo::whoo::whoo:

Donna, your email reminds all of us how great this journey can be. I am still looking forward to jeans with zippers but it is funny the small pleasures we look forward to. I have enjoyed bending over easier and tying my shoes with more ease.

Thanks everyone. The little things really do make a big difference. Friends tell me I even walk differently now. I guess it is because I am not hauling so much with me. LOL Donna

Ahhh, isn't it wonderful to be able to take a bubble bath and actually be able to have your entire body submerged in Water instead of having the ol' belly sticking up and freezing?! That was an awesome feeling.

Donna, way to go. I love the NSV's. I went to dinner at the parents today and my aunt looked right at me and didnt know who I was. I havent seen her since before the journey began. Keep it up, you are doing great...Dave

MY OWN NSV!

Went to BIL/SIL house today. Ate 2 shrimp, 1/2 of the inside of a stuffed cabbage, a little potato salad and a little creamy Jello stuff ( cool whip, pudding kind of thing). I had no dessert/ no wine or drinks.

One other meal today (b'fast) scrambled egg and one piece whole wheat toast.

Feel so good that I had control (this year at least).

I have one week to get below 200 (aiming for 198 by 12/31) and I so want to be there.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
