2024 was no my eating friend. I had Surgery 9 years ago and I am just so mad at myself for letting myself go.

Soooo.... 2025:

  • Take my Vitamins
  • Drink less alcohol
  • Drink more Water
  • Meal prep
  • Take more time for me
  • Actually exercise

Exercise may end up being your “you time” if you find something that you enjoy doing. I never in a zillion years would’ve pictured myself exercising and I have not always been obese either. My issues began when I was like 25 so I was active And fit but never did actual exercise in my life until post revision. Well, no I absolutely love YOGA. That, and my crochet group are my time. I shut my phone off for both and I am just present for the entire time. The YOGA makes me feel so good for the entire day. I love it.

2024 was a very tough year for me and my family.

Both my mother and husband Dx with Cancer. My poor darling Mum old lasted 21 days from Dx. I haven't really had a chance to deal with it, have been drinking a lot! Christmas hit hard.

Fortunately Hubby is doing well, but Chemo has knocked him around, poor fellow. Last round this week, so fingers crossed it all goes well and he gets the all clear!!

2025 goals:

Successfully get through PreOp (starts 1st tomorrow😬), Op (16th Jan) and Post without issue!!

Finally lose the weight I have been carrying most of my adult life!

Spend less money!

Find some exercise I enjoy and do it regularly.

Be more grateful and appreciative of all the good/great things I have in my life.

Happy New Year everyone!!!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
