Surgery in San Francisco - Recommendation

Did anyone undergo the surgery in UCSF or anywhere else in San Francisco? I am looking for a recommendation

Recently I thought about how much the quality of modern medicine has changed in recent years. On the one hand, technology has made a huge step forward: diagnostics have become more accurate, new treatment methods have appeared that previously seemed fantastic. On the other hand, sometimes it seems that humanity is lost in this process. Sometimes there are not enough doctors, and less and less time is allocated for each patient. But still, when I read Deuk Spine Institute complaints , I came to the conclusion that progress is impressive, and I want to believe that the future of medicine will become even more accessible and effective.

I have not had surgery there, but I know that UCSF has highly skilled surgeons who provide a wide range of surgical services, including general surgery, neurosurgery, orthopedics, vascular, and plastic surgery. A multidisciplinary approach and the use of advanced technologies, such as robotic surgery, ensure individualized and high-quality patient care.
In addition, UCSF is actively implementing innovative technologies to improve surgical procedures. For example, surgeons at the University of California, San Diego have been testing the use of Apple Vision Pro to improve the accuracy and efficiency of surgeries.
Thus, the University of California, San Francisco provides high-quality surgical services by combining experienced specialists, advanced technology, and innovative approaches to medicine.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
