Patrick Calif 1 Posted January 6 Hello I'm new to this site. I had the surgery 14 years ago. Lost a total of 170 pounds. I'm waiting for a date to remove extra skin. 1 AnnaRocks79 reacted to this
AnnaRocks79 2 Posted January 6 Already on Day 6 tomorrow. I’m on medimeal shakes for almost 3 weeks my date is Jan 23rd. 10am Breakfast shake 2pm lunch shake 4pm 2 cups of shredded green pepper/ cabbage/ cucumber/ spinach/ cauliflower and broccoli with 1 tbsp of low calorie Salad Dressing.< br /> 6pm dinner Shake 10pm snack shake During this time I realized how much food runs my life. Making food for the family I’m literally drooling (tear). Not about to cheat tho!!! I didn’t come this far to stay stuck 🙏❤️ 1 DaisyChainOz reacted to this
DaisyChainOz 430 Posted January 6 It's so hard when you have to make food for the family!! But you got this!! 😄 I am fortunate that my night meal can be reasonably normal, for now, the last 4 days before surgery is no meat, shakes and veggies only.

I’m not a Breakfast person, never have been, and it just feels like a “diet” LOL I do better on a low carb diet so the fruit is throwing me. Honestly I’d rather be on a shake for breakfast and lunch and just have dinner. Oh, I also have to exercise 5 days a week and log everything. Exercise is the roughest part due to pretty painful arthritis in my ankle.

I had an orientation and met with the surgeon then was told I’d get an appointment with a nutritionist. I also need to hit my surgery weight, 11 pounds left to lose. I am not a breakfast person either, except on weekends if I can have a late brunch 😄 .. so that has been a challenge for me too, I find now I sip my shakes with coffee in them, at work basically takes me hours! Have you discussed the arthritis with your team? any way you can exercise without extra pressure on your ankle? swimming? There are several seated exercise gurus on social media, such as Justin Augustin, who have programs for people not able to do traditional exercise routines. DaisyChainOz 430 Posted January 8 How is everyone going who's on Pre Op? I am a week out from surgery (16th) as of today, 😬 have lost 3.2kg (7 pounds) since starting pre op on the 1st Jan, 5kg (11 ponds) since first consult in Sept. I am nervous it's getting close now, and I have to travel for work next week, can only have shakes and veggies next week it is going to be tricky getting healthy veg when not at home! It'snatural to be anxious or worried, But I know I am trying to keep on top of it, helps I have a work mate who had sleeve in Sept with the same surgeon as me, she's keeping me upbeat about it all It's a low complication surgery most of the time. I have had surgery before, so trying to focus on the positive!! Have you had surgery before?
yrod415 2 Posted January 10 I just had my sleeve surgery yesterday. It was an outpatient procedure which I was happy about as I’d rather go home than stay in the hospital overnight. All in all it went well as I was up and walking a few hours after I woke up. The only downside to the surgery (if there had to be one) was the gas pain and nausea. Although, I’ve been told not everyone experiences nausea. Just a day after my surgery and I feel fine. Taking my pain meds as needed and I’m able to keep down liquids. I’m excited to see my progress as I lost 43 pounds before my procedure date. I hope to lose another 110 pounds to be at my goal weight. Good luck to everyone getting their surgery in 2025! We can do this! Cheers!!! 2 DaisyChainOz and Melissa💖💜💙 reacted to this

It's going okay so far. I'm down 22 lbs. since my initial consult in late November, 5 lbs since I started pre-op diet on Jan 1st. They put me on a no-carb, protein-fruit-veggies-only diet to start with. I start my full liquid diet on the 13th, which I will be on for two weeks before I switch to Clear Liquids only. It'll be a challenge, but I think I'll do all right. Good luck with everything! 1 DaisyChainOz reacted to this
