MJ1990 0 Posted November 19, 2024 I have surgery booked 28 November. I have been told to get Centrum Vitamins and I have read that you cannot take these while breastfeeding. Has anyone ever been advised to stop breastfeeding for surgery? Or has anyone breastfeed before and after surgery? What soluble vitamins did you take? You may need pain medications that are not compatible with feeding as well 1 Arabesque reacted to this
Anabolina 0 Posted November 26, 2024 I have a 10month old that im still bf and i just had surgery last Wednesday, so I'm a total newborn, but my surgeon recommended I not bf until all the anesthesia was out of my system and that I not bf on the prescribed pain meds. I pimped and dumped at the hospital and for the first 2 days at home, but my Saturday morning, I stopped taking the pain meds and started bf baby girl again. I switched to tylenol for the next day or so, but haven't had any pain meds today and mostly just feel a bit tired and sore. I'll note thematic baby goes to daycare full time and I'm not pumping while she's gone and have formula saved for when my freezer stash runs out.
