I spoke with the nurse and she told me they don’t have anything any more on the floors. It’s terrible. They were told it was because the stock would expire and would have to be disposed off so they stopped the supply for budgetary reasons, Also have to order Water via the app (or by phone which as I mentioned was out of my reach at the time). What happened to those lovely ladies who would top up your water, offer you a cup of tea, a little chat, fixed your flowers (if you were lucky enough to receive any) when you were in hospital. So sad. They don’t even have the little fridge in the room anymore like they used too.

I had my hypoglycemia years before my sleeve surgery, I just experience it more often now. I sometimes find even a cup of tea (green so no milk) helps me. Strange but true. But generally I go for something a little sweet hence the blueberries or electrolyte drink.

Oh, I have the survey & don’t worry I will be filling it out detailing my experience.

I spoke with my surgeon today about some weird symptoms I have had since surgery.

I have only experienced about 3-4 episodes of it since having surgery, but it tends to happen if I haven't eaten for a substantial amount of time (like nothing until 2/3pm).

The following happens:

  • shaking

  • light headedness

  • dizziness

  • sweating

  • anxiety

  • palpitations

  • pale presentation of skin

  • weakness

  • disorientation

He has suggested that I have reactive hypoglycaemia - has anyone else experienced this? I have heard it is quite common after bariatric surgery

I literally just posted about this!!!! I freaked out because my eyes got super blurry.

I fasted for spiritual reasons and didnt eat all day. I cannot do that again

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
