Good morning all! I am struggling. Surgery was 10/01 and I have been dealing with morning nausea. It sucks. I can’t really eat or drink anything till 10am ish and the through of Protein Shakes and yogurt 🤢.

Please tell me I am not the only one experiencing this. It’s causing me to NOT hit my goals for Water or Protein. UGH

@Candace4283
I have on hand Ondansetron subliminal that helps so much for nausea? I’m not dealing with that now but so much pain but it’s only 3 days out. I’m trying cream of shrimp soup/milk to thin…blended…little Protein Powder and bay seasoning and Protein Drinks mostly.

Hello I am new here. I just had the roux en y gastric bypass and hiatal hernia repair last Thursday morning. I was 260 going in and I'm down to 250 . I'm on the Clear Liquids phase 1 and my dietitian said I can advance to phase 2 on Friday. Is it just me or is this liquid diet thing extremely frustrating at times and I get moody too because I do like to drink sometimes on the weekend. I am trying to take things slow but it's such a lifestyle change for me.

Congrats on the weight loss so far. I'm 4 days post op from roux en y and haven't lost a pound. I'm sticking to the full liquid diet because I want my stomach to heal correctly. Doc put me on full liquids the day after my surgery. I have little to zero pain. But I feel bloated. My doc told me advance to the next step of pureed food in 3 weeks. I just want to eat a good salad! But I'm waiting.

Omg I can’t believe it’s almost time! I have to be at the hospital at 5:30 am CST. I hope I can at least get in a nap. 3:30 comes early!

How are you feeling? Any updates on your progress since surgery?

I had gastric sleeve surgery on 10/23 and I’m currently 1week post op and I have been having horrible pain from my biggest incision on my right side all the way around my back that I can barely walk it hurts so bad. Good luck I’m seriously regretting this surgery right now due to the pain.

I set a timer for every 15 minutes and drink an ounce of Water. This is what they had me do in the hospital and it works great.

I'm now 4 weeks post op. I'm not really in any pain except my hip which is unrelated. I'm about to start the soft foods phase,. I'm nervous about when I will start solid foods because solid foods are what helped me get big in the first place. I have my ne month review with my surgical team in the 7th of November.

      Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
      1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

        All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

      I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
