Hi y’all
I talked with my nutritionist this morning for the last time before sleeve surgery 10/21. One more telehealth appointment with surgeon …then appointment 10/14 for anesthesia clearance and then ….anyway starting today pre op diet, if I can get to the store for shakes. I live in SE Florida? Planning what to do? Stay or leave?
How are any of you doing with your pre op diet? Mine is 3 shakes and a little meal for dinner a day. Water! Until the day before surgery.

I’m feeling good. Working from home till I can eat with fewer restrictions.
Still a little sore and bruised but over all I feel good.

That's great to hear! I took a 45 minute walk today, but my belly dragging made it uncomfortable so I think I need a tighter t shirt! New NSV today! My watch fits in the 4th hole instead of the third hole! The little things get me through lately.

i had my preadmission class yesterday and they spoke about what we can and can't have as well. they don't do the two-week liquid diet before they just have a green and lean diet basically healthy eating that we must do before the surgery and the liquid diet 2 weeks post op. my date is 10/29 so start the diet Monday. they gave us two shakes one we have to take 12 hours before surgury time and the other 3 hours prior to surgery . the day before surgery we can have a liht Breakfast and after 12 noon all liquids .

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
