How many CC's in your Inamed 10cc band?

Recommended Posts

So, now that I've had 5 cc for 6 days now, I'm starting to feel like maybe it's not as much restriction as I thought. Last night I ate pizza and garlic bread for dinner....that type of meal just SHOULD not fly....I think I have to wait 3 or so more weeks til I can get another fill....hope I don't get too hungry!

I just got my 5th fill this morning. I'm at 7.5 cc in a 10 AP band. I had trouble eating my morning oatmeal after the fill. I can only take sips of coffee. None of this has happened after any of my other fills. It usually has taken a day or so to kick in with each preceeding fill and this one hit immediately. I hope this is it. I have to be careful to eat slowly and only eat small amounts. I certainly don't want to stretch my pouch. I DO hope this one is it.

Take care all.

I've had three fills already, and I'm up to 8.5 cc in a 10cc Johnson & Johnson band. I only feel restriction when I eat bread, potatoes or sometimes eggs. I was banded 10/18/07, and with these three fills, I've only lost 24-25 pounds. I feel like it should be more. I know I need to exercise, and I'm only walking about once a week.

I think my question is: should I be filled until I feel restriction on most foods if I eat regularly, or do you think I'm doing okay and just need to get my butt away from my office desk or off the couch?

I go to Dr. Stephanie in Tyler for my fills because I was banded in Tijuana (absolutely fabulous experience!). She charges $200 per fill (under fluroscopy), so I'm debating on whether to go ahead and have a little more put in, or save the money.

What do y'all think?

Wow. That's definitely quite a ways from the way I feel with my 5cc. Something tells me you wouldn't do very well on pizza and garlic bread for dinner.< /p>

kandice, you and are are at about the same place, but you've lost more than me. I started at 230, surgery date 11/8. You've had more fills than I have, my doc makes me wait 4 weeks between. I just CANNOT wait to be in the 100's!!!!

I just got my 10cc ap band on 1/16/08 and had 6cc put in it during surgery. I thought that was a lot but he said that is just how it fit. Sometimes it happens like that. I have really good restriction right now but I am probably still very swollen so I'm guessing it won't last long. Thankfully I only have to wait 4 weeks for a fill instead of 6-8 weeks.

Im on my second fill. I have 7ccs and very little restriction. Im thinking about scheduling a small fill for the end of Feb depending on my weight loss.

I'm now at 6 ccs after a 2-cc second fill on Friday and I do have restriction for now. I'm on liquids through today but I had a Luna bar and two slices of American cheese last night and for the first time, I got a little uncomfortable as I felt it slowly pass through the band. I didn't wait long enough between bites.

I'll be good today and tomorrow I can return to solid foods. I've been chewing a lot more and taking smaller bites ever since surgery but now I finally need to remember to wait between bites. I'm actually excited about it!

I have a 10cc band and did not experience really good restriction until last Monday's fill, (my 5th). My surgeon is obviously quite conservative from what I read here...I am 17 weeks out and finaly filled at 7.6cc with great restriction! Good luck to everyone!

Yeah, okay....I'm totally ready for another fill. I'm really trying to change my eating habits...like chewing thoroughly and putting down the fork between bites, but I ate dinner at about 5:30, went to the gym at 7:20, and now it's 8:23 and I want some freaking ice cream so badly right now I'm about to throw a hissy fit!!!!!!!!!! I'm NOT EVEN kidding you. The only reason I know I'm not going to get it is because it's cold and rainy and the car is already in the garage. BOO! I will call the doc tomorrow and shoot for 2/7 for a fill date. That's 12 days before I leave for San Diego, so great timing. I hope I'll be able to talk the doc into 2cc's so I'll be at 7. I think that will start to be good for me.

Yeah, that's true! But, I'm doing the Couch to 5k running program with my audio podcasts...I'm hooked. I think I may be turning into a "runner". And believe me, coming from my lips, that's just Crazy Talk!

I think my 7.5 will do me for a while. It has gotten tighter over the weekend and I am limited as to how much solid food I can eat. HOWEVER, as Stranger said, there is ALWAYS the craving for something and that is only HEAD hunger. I don't feel regular hunger now. I guess the object is to make it something low in calories. I do like the no sugar pudding Jello has. It comes in banana/chocolate, mint/chocolate and a couple others with those two being my favorites. They are only 60 calories each so that beats the heck out of ice cream. That is easy for me to say because I really don't like ice cream. I like "whole cream on the top" yogurt with banana/orange/pineapple Isopure Protein Powder. THAT is my downfall. I'll just add more time on my treadmill to offset my vice.

Take care all.

Sometimes reading the posts here make me wonder if some people just weren't mentally ready for WLS and needed more time with the bariatric team psychiatrist. Complaining about the limited drink/food choices early on... blah..blah...blah. The living to eat mentality really needs to go and be replaced with eating to live. JS

Question for anyone, how did you get your mind right before surgery? Like as far as eating better foods and just doing better in general? I'm having a really hard time with this. Any help is appreciated 🙏❤️

I had about 6 months between deciding to do surgery and getting scheduled. I came across the book The Pound of Cure by Dr. Matthew Weiner, a bariatric surgeon in Arizona, and started to implement some of the changes he recommended (and lost 13 lbs in the process without ever feeling deprived). The book is very simple, and the focus is on whole, plant based foods, but within reason. It's not an all or nothing approach, or going vegan or something, but focuses on improvement and aiming for getting it right 80-90% of the time. His suggestions are divided into 12 sections that you can tackle over time, perhaps one per month for a year if a person is just trying to improve nutrition and build good habits. They range from things like cutting out artificial sweetener or eating more beans to eating a pound of vegetables per day. I found it really effective pre-surgery and it's an eating style I will be working to get back to as I am further out from surgery and have more capacity. Small changes you can sustain will do the most for building good habits for life.

That sounds awesome. I'll have to check that out thanks!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.
