Landed back in the UK late last night, and boy am I happy to have my own bed and be with my cats! I do however have COVID after doing a test last night, which sucks 😂

Athens was amazing! The heat was more than manageable, and I was walking 20-25k steps per day for the whole week, and I wasn't in pain like I was on holiday last year. It was so great to already see and feel that change. I felt like I could actually keep up with my friends.

The only thing that I couldn't/didn't want to do, was get to the Acropolis - that was STEEP and I am afraid of heights, so maybe that will be a future thing 😂

I met so many cats which was ideal, and I enjoyed my time thoroughly.

I did try a few glasses of white wine, spread out over a few days, and genuinely it had no effect on me! I was really expecting to feel it, but genuinely there was nothing 🤷‍♀️ I don't think I will choose to drink again haha.

I have also managed to lose a few pounds too, so I am feeling happy about that! Unfortunately my boyfriend has put on 8-9lbs due to eating the leftovers from my food bless him 🤣

Sorry you have Covid but so glad to hear you had a good trip. I bet your cats missed you too.

Wow 25,000 for multiple days good for you. I have been doing like 10-15k average just around the house and neighborhood and the one day I did almost 20 and boy oh boy my dogs were barking as my Dad used to say. I am so looking forward to being a little further out and being able to truly do whatever I want in terms of activity. Told my husband I’d like to do a trip when I reach my goal weight and if he been asking people for suggestions. I don’t want anywhere hot. Someone suggested Iceland. I’ve gotta research that.

After my sleeve, alcohol was the exact same for me. I used to drink the flavored rums with my Coke Zero so I tried it post surgery with crystal light and margaritaville mixes and it tasted okay-ish but I was expecting this super fast buzz that everyone talked about and it did the opposite. Tried it a few more times over the years and even two or three in a night and I still felt nothing. I decided it’s a waste of calories and money for me and I haven’t drank since. I mean I never did it to get trashed but the point usually was a little bit of a buzz at a party or occasion.

Your poor boyfriend who gained a few. Tell him he was taking it for the team, lol Seems like men usually can drop a small amount of weight pretty quick if they really want to 🤞. For future you may want to remind yourself that when you’re in a situation like that it is okay to waste a bit of food. I know it’s hard wired into some of us that we shouldn’t and I have been freezing things and having leftover nights at home to try and avoid it but it is okay if you don’t even have a refrigerator to put it in. It’s better than you or someone else having to overindulge. Now if he was secretly was looking forward to your leftovers that’s a different story. 😉

I hope you feel better really soon!!

Yeah covid was a bit of a kick haha, but I started to feel a little ill out there, but just kept pushing on! My cats definitely did miss us, and we are glad to have them home!

Yeah I didn't even imagine I could do that many! It now feels weird being home and not out walking, but I thought my body could do with resting and recovering 😂10-15k per day is amazing - I need to be doing that!! Hahaha, I love that you call them dogs too!

You're gonna love it! Definitely somewhere cold...that is my ideal too 🤣

Oooh okay I am glad I am not the only one literally feeling nothing from alcohol! I agree that I just feel it's a waste of calories and money, so I doubt I'll try again! Very strange.

Don't get me wrong, he was enjoying all the extra food 😂 But he was excited to come home where I could control my portion sizes and he didn't feel the need to eat my leftovers haha.

Thank you!

Sounds like a fabulous trip. Hopefully the first of many where you can get that kind of walking in!

Sorry you ended up with Covid. Horrible virus. I hope you don't suffer any long term effects. Guess that's what we're all hoping for these days. Feels more and more like Russian Roulette though. 😟

I have had the opposite experience with alcohol - hits me much quicker. I have to be really careful.

So glad you had a wonderful holiday and was able to deal with the heat and get loads of walking in, with weight loss too! How are your cats with you, now that you’re home? My older cat, George, used to sulk massively when we’d been away. He would sit on the end of the bed with his back to us, letting us know of his displeasure! I would take a day before he would consent to be stroked and then he would gradually forgive us.

I hope your dose of Covid isn't too bad? There’s a lot of it about apparently and it’s hitting people differently. My son had Migraines with his, but the 3 month old baby and his 4 year old sister both sailed through it! You just can’t tell, unfortunately.

Loving the new profile pic - your cheekbones are looking sharp!

Definitely was! No pressure, no need to plan everything, just wing it and relax haha! Feels weird being back at home and not constantly walking for most of the day though!

At the moment it feels like a light cold - the cough has gone now and I think I am towards the end of it! And yeah it definitely is :( When the pandemic first started we almost lost my dad (pre-vaccine), and it was terrifying :(

That is what I was expecting! I don't know if I was just drinking far too slowly, or if it is because I ate inbetween but it just felt like nothing!

The heat was so manageable I was shocked! I actually feel warmer since coming back to the UK and the humidity 🤣 My kitties are good - back to normal! Just wanted lots of attention haha. My eldest, Freya, also tends to do the same, but she has been a bit more clingy this time around bless her. How old is George?

The Covid is okay yeah, seems to have been a really mild bout of it - I am vaccinated up to my eyeballs mind you - but I think it has helped that I am in a healthier place now! It really does effect people so differently!

Thank you ❤️

George was 19 when old age got him ☹️ We lost 3 cats in 2 years - 2 to age, 1 to cancer. We’ve been cat-free for almost 12 months now and I keep pondering on whether to get another. We can’t have a rescue cat as we live on a main road so will have to consider a kitten as an indoor cat. I’m still not 100% so will ponder a little longer 🤔 I hope you’re managing to shake off Covid and it’s not being too much of a 💩 with you 😉

Oh bless him :( It is so hard when they pass isn't it 😕 I haven't had a cat until old age yet - my childhood cat, Chubbs, died when he was maybe 4/5 because of a car :(

I have my old baby Freya (names also include: Freyabean, beany, Halloweenybeanyweeny, Jalebeeno, fattie, fridge...I could go on) she is 9, 10 next year!

I also have my little baby Pickle (also called: pickley, pickstick, pickle bum, demon, picky wicky, poo bum etc) and she's almost 6 months old!

Both my babies are indoor cats, and honestly I think it is safer and healthier for cats! They live longer!

@ShoppGirl we enquired previously about a kitten from a rescue place and was told no because of where we live, regardless of whether it would be an indoor cat, just in case the kitten ‘got out’ 🙄

@Bypass2Freedom As for cat names -

George: Georgy, Porgy, pudding, Pie, Beautiful Boy,

Mercedes: Sadie Mitten Cat, Sadie MittMitt, MittenCat, MeMe, Sadies

Enzo: Ennnnnnnzzzzzzzzzooooooo, Enzo Fat Cat.

And each cat answered to their range of names!!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
