lauren0728 0 Posted December 24, 2007 Well i was so excited about my weight loss.. i lost 13 pounds in the first month of being banded, and then another 5 after that. Since then i have lost NOTHING. i have no idea what to do. i am eating NO WHERE near what i did before. Yet the nothing? i know im not working out as much as i should so im not expecting alot of pounds to come off... but SOMETHING?? right? i dont know what to do to start loosing weight. Lately ive been pretty tight (i think due to stress) so ive been getting in even less... but get this i have gained back those 5 pounds i lost in the last month. I have no clue. ANY insight as to what i should do would be GREATLY appreciated. <3 Lauren

steph_co 9 Posted December 24, 2007 Exercise. Count calories by tracking every little thing that goes into your mouth. There may be calories you weren't even paying attention to. Get a fill if you have not had one yet. "Eating less" doesn't necessarily mean anything. I could be eating less calories than I was before by sticking to 2000 per day. But there's no way I'd be losing weight like I am. In addition, I could eat a box of Twinkies per day and still be eating less QUANTITY-WISE than I was before the band. You need to make sure you are taking in QUALITY food. It's not about quantity (before good restriction, anyway). Make sure you get your Protein first and then work your way to veggies and then if there is still room...whole grain stuff. Make sure you're getting in your full amount (64 oz) of Water per day. Dave01 0 Posted December 24, 2007 Like steph said, make sure you are getting in your required liquids. My scale stopped for a while and I had to change my meal plan (variety) and it started moving again. I average near 900-1100 calories at the most per day. Some days, only 700, but I feel the loss of energy on those. Keep up your Protein intake too. If this doesnt work, wave a large hammer at your scale and threaten it with destruction. Mine got so scared it is still moving...LOL
lauren0728 0 Posted December 24, 2007 stacy- i had one fill, i have 7.5 ccs in my band now (10cc band) steph and dave- thanks for the advice. I am trying to eat the best quality stuff i can.. like egg whites and veggies, meat gets stuck...The Water thing kinda went over my head. I KNO i dont get 64 oz in during a day, will that make a huge difference?. And i do get protien, but i bet not alot. dave- what kinds of things are u eating to get all of your protien in and still be around 900 cal?? thanks guys.. im hoping this works... WASaBubbleButt 41 Posted December 24, 2007 EXERCISE! Those calories need to be burned, fat is stored energy. What you don't eat will be burned for fuel and since fat is stored energy you will be fine. Get out and move, burn the calories. Lots of people don't like exercising, I don't either but it works. I don't like cleaning that bathroom either but it needs to be done, just like exercise.
losingjusme 12 Posted December 26, 2007 like steph said - log your cals, WHAT are you eating? i log every bite that goes in my mouth. sometimes i dont want to (like when i have a piece of carrot cake or something), but i do it. and then i make sure i work my @$$ off at the gym. the band is a tool, it's up to you how you want to use it. you can do this!
