omg omg so i totally did a scorpion handstand in yoga class this morning!! it was only for like 3 or 4 seconds, but still! (also i fell out of it on my side and kinda bruised a hip, but its all good)

i wish i had a picture of it, but no cameras allowed during class...lol, so you'll have to take my word for it.

in case you are unfamiliar, this is a scorpion handstand: (yay, me!)

Went to my follow up with my family NP and with the nurses guidance I did my B-12 shot!! I was so nervous that my hand was shaking and it took a while to get it all injected but I did it. This was a huge deal for me because I can’t even look when someone else gives me a shot.

Hurray! Well done on injecting yourself. I know you definitely wasn’t sure about it so it’s a definite accomplishment 🥇

Well done to you on the motivation it must take.

If you are up and out at 4am, what time are you going to bed?

I am not the best sleeper so most mornings wake at 4/4.30am but I have never considered getting up and active.

When I had my sleeve I got up and got on the treadmill every morning and noticed that I actually slept better at night. I think we mentally wear ourselves out but if we don’t physically as well, we don’t sleep as well. I need to get back to that as soon as I’m cleared.

Thanks...I retire around 8pm and put all electronics away I also do not have TV in bedroom it helps. Much like @ShoppGirl stated I rest much better after cardio/physical activity..I also am not the best sleeper 😩. I am very big on movement and always have been even when I was larger..so I have to get it done! Once I'm done in the early am. I have the rest of the day to do as I wish!

So today I’m two weeks post op and was my first big trip into the city. I went to my crochet group so I was just driving and then sitting but I was still excited that it wasn’t too painful and the three hours out didn’t Tucker me out too much.

Also, while I was driving I noticed that my seat seemed too far back. I just asked my hubby to make sure he didn’t do it while I was in hospital and he says no so I guess my butt is a little smaller. My first NSV having to adjust the seat.

I have moderate to severe asthma and in the past all allergists and pulmonologists said, “it’s because you’re fat.” So, now I’m mildly obese but still have terrible breathing and finally got the medical care I need. My peak flow meter is regularly registering at 500, the same as in my 20’s. I’m in my 50’s and sometimes my meter will go to 600 now! On the one hand I’m psyched that I’m exercising and breathing as well as I did in my 20’s. (On the other hand I’m furious that this took years of advocacy on my part.) Yeay me! I made good happen! Feel free to switch doctors if you’re not listened to after you’ve tracked your data, and done your research.

It always amazes me how doctors will dismiss reported health concerns attributing it all to being obese! When it could be something else entirely! I'm glad you're finally getting the healthcare you need!

If there is one thing I've learned over the years and having been in the hospital for weeks - the bitchy squeaky wheel gets the attention. I watched myself and others who were "easy going" patients get ignored and over looked all the while "complainers" get the medical attention they needed. Needless to say, I'm no longer quiet or complacent about my healthcare needs or others after having experienced and watched neglect.

Went to my crochet group again today and I didn’t need a nap afterwards. I’m hoping maybe I’m done with the afternoon nap stage. I plan to wake up earlier tomorrow and really try to power through again so I can hopefully get my sleep cycle back to normal. Day by day I get a little closer to my normal.

ooh and yesterday was a follow up for the muscle cramps that I got in my calf which went away with the magnesium they gave me but I kept the appt anyways because i start soft food Monday and I had questions. She said that since my pre op appt I have lost 19 pounds so that’s one month exactly and the expected loss for a revision is between 5-10 pounds month so I’m doing good.

Just got a pair of pants in the mail that are a smaller sixe and they actually Fit!! I think they are snug in the hips and said I needed to lose a bit more before wearing them but my husband said he’s pretty sure that’s how they are supposed to look. Regardless, I got them on and they are not uncomfortable. That’s a win in my book.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.

Lost my Pup last month and struggled really hard for that first month. Stopped tracking intake and slid into old habits here and there. Also quit working out. Can't walk in the neighborhood because of all of the memories we shared. Losing my Pup is the most heartbreaking thing I've ever been through. My Pup was my world 💔
Talked to my doc during my one year followup and they were not worried about my current status. They know, and I know, that I will get back on track.

I'm so sorry. I lost my pup (Mr. Bitters - a chocolate Pomeranian) 2 years ago and it still makes me tear up. He was my everything - my constant companion. I understand. Do the best you can to get back on track.
