my win today is successfully holding a straight handstand for just over 5 seconds! been working on this for a few months now and this is the first time i held over the 5 second mark (the goal is 10s...halfway there!)

i would like to note that i am 52 years old and this year is the first time i EVER did a handstand (of any length of time, outside of a cartwheel) in my LIFE.

💪🏼

i feel very accomplished lol

Hmm...my win is fitting into shorts that I bought last year that didn't even get on one thigh 🤣 and now I can get them on, with some room around the tummy and waist!

Added bonus win: the shorts are high-waisted denim, and I haven't worn denim in years and years because of my weight!

That is awesome! I had to also drop some tears I tried on old clothes and it's like I lost a whole person, I was going to get rid of my old clothing but I'll keep a few as a reminder !!

My win is I haven't had Red Bull or either type of energy drink for a week and I don't even miss them! I'm sleeping better as a result. It was a vicious cycle, couldn't get enough sleep, needed large amounts of caffeine, couldn't get enough sleep!

My win is being halfway done my fluids six hours into the day. I usually struggle to remind myself to Keep On Sippin', but clearly repetition can teach an old dog new tricks.

When I was fat I would have to go hunting in my wardrobe for clothes that fit. I would usually find nothing and need to buy new. It was so frustrating because I usually couldn't find what I needed and was never totally comfortable in my clothes

Now I can always fit in all my clothes, shoes and boots. I decide in bed in the morning which outfit to wear. Its a stress free joy.

My win for today is being able to work from home the last 2 days while sick (I'm a clinical medical assistant). I've been returning calls that come in on the MA line that we normally can't get to right away, doing prescription refills, authorizing controlled medications, working on prior authorizations, doing referrals, scheduling infusion treatments, sending in lab orders, and generally getting all 3 of us MAs in the office all caught up with our admin stuff that we have to do on top of all of the clinical stuff we do all day. Needless to say, they were quite grateful to be caught up lol They asked if we could each take turned working from home 1 day per week to do just admin stuff, but sadly, the powers that be don't like that idea. But it's a win for us that I at least got us all caught up now!!!

I don't have any pto time I can use right now, so I needed to be able to justify working from home and not just having 2 unpaid days out. At least this way, my boss can't say it was wasted money lol

  • 50% of bypass patients reach at least 166 lbs 18 months after surgery. Based on my starting weight of 271.

I'm coming up on my 12 month surgery anniversary (Aug 21st) and I'm already below this statistic as of today! I even did a happy dance (my pups thought I was nuts). 😆

I'm hoping with 6 months until 18 months that I'll be in this category:

  • 20% of patients reach 149 lbs 18 months after surgery.

If the above isn't enough, I met up with another friend I haven't seen in 6 months for Breakfast this morning, she walked right past me twice looking for me!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Am feeling this right now. My surgery date is 4/1. Sign the consent tomorrow. I feel like I overloaded myself with too much info, too many opinions. Got to the point where I was wondering if I should do this. Then I thought of my reasons for taking this step and that settled my nerves. Still get moments of doubt but am striving forward. Am just going to follow my book from the surgeon. Joined this because I was told by my dietician that I should do this for support

Had a sleeve in 2017, lost over 100 pounds. Had a DS surgery this year (2025) for more sustainable weight loss. 🤞
