Jaye Apples 29 Posted July 15, 2024 (edited) My surgery was supposed to be July 10/24. I spent hours waiting at the hospital only to be told that there was an emergency in the OR and my surgery had to be cancelled. Super bummed about it. I was told I may have to wait until beginning of September now. I get it, these things happen but i just spent 3 weeks on a liquid diet and rearrached my whole life to do this. 😞 Edited July 15, 2024 by Jaye Apples 1 4 Arabesque, ShoppGirl, BabySpoons and 2 others reacted to this
JennyBeez 289 Posted July 15, 2024 Ugh, I can only imagine -- waiting for surgery is tough enough, but having it postponed so suddenly must be really rough on the psyche. I'm an anxious person by nature, I totally understand how much this could be stressing you out. On the bright side, go you! Look at how much you lost already pre-op! ❤️ 1 SleeveToBypass2023 reacted to this
ShoppGirl 5,004 Posted July 15, 2024 I’m so sorry. That would be such a letdown. Try not to let it get you off track though. You already went through the rough part of detoxing from all the stuff you crave. If you stick to a lower carb diet it should be that much easier for you the next time. Also, I would ask if they can keep your number handy in case they have any cancellations. 2 JennyBeez and SleeveToBypass2023 reacted to this
Jaye Apples 29 Posted July 16, 2024 Thank you for your replies. They do have my number in case of cancellations so that is a plus.
summerseeker 2,236 Posted July 16, 2024 That's so cruel and everyone is so scared that it could happen to them. I think I might have had a melt down. I feel for you because we want this surgery so badly and 3 weeks on a liquid diet is brutal. Biggest hugs sent your way.

To be honest, I feel like I'm having a week long melt down over it and just giving myself a week's grace to work through my feelings. Thanks for your comment. 1 summerseeker reacted to this
NeonRaven8919 486 Posted July 18, 2024 (edited) Sorry to hear you've had to go through this. My surgery is in October and I'm a bundle of nerves. I've been put on a 12 week liquid diet, and I couldn't imagine going through all this and then having to reschedule. Good Luck to you! Jaye Apples 29 Posted July 18, 2024 Oh no! 12 weeks is so long! Now that I think of it, this will likely be me also since I have no desire to completely opt out of the liquid diet in case a cancelation happens with someone else. I'm currently doing the shakes and a cup of low calorie Soup. Thank you for your message. 🤍 3 JennyBeez, NeonRaven8919 and SleeveToBypass2023 reacted to this

I would’ve figured they would give you an appointment but then call you if they had a sooner one due to a cancellation. Also, At this point you have been on that diet for 6 weeks, right? I would call and make sure that it’s okay with your doctor that you continue on with that same diet. Some of these diets are only designed to be short term.
