Personal Pity Party..you are all welcome!

Sigh...I have lost 70-72 lbs (depending on the week I weigh in) and have stalled out. This I can handle because I know the chocolate demon has discovered my name (again) and has been calling me daily. I am working on sending him back down to hell where he belongs. However, seeing this demon rekindle his evil relationship with me is discouraging and depressing. I thought I had this beat!!! I have an 2 yr old living in my brain saying, "I don't wanna!" I want to find my inner child and kick her little ass.....Anyway, for those of you joining my pity party...please take all the chocolate home with you...or toss it out your car windows or whatever....CALGON...TAKE ME AWAY!

Just roll with the punches. You'll still go through phases where you can't get enough of one thing or another, or where you feel ravenous all day in spite of how much you eat, but these are temporary (albeit frightening) stages.

Indulge a little bit in the real thing, then make up the bulk of the difference in imposters, like chocolate Protein shakes, or mock frappacinos (instant coffee w/cocoa, splash of vanilla, non-fat powdered milk, a dash of half-n-half, artificial sweetener to taste, Water and ice blended until slushy and top with the spray on whip cream. You can even add a flavorless Protein powder to that to beef it up protein-wise.

You're going to be fine!! :)

Maybe play a game with the chocolate demon. Spend a few days giving the little devil a taste of his own medicine, then, WHAM! take it away. A pound or two up for a day or two can usually be lost pretty quickly if you spend some time being verrry gooood for the following few days. Beat him at his own game...but not if feeding him a little will send YOU into a tailspin of over-indulgence. Chocolate always calls my name at "that time of the month" so maybe it will pass? Normally I'm not a big sweets person, but...sometimes!!!!! Oh my gosh. I know how you feel!

Maybe you can incorporate a small amount of chocolate in your daily calories. As long as you count them and cut back on something else, you should be fine. I know a few gals on here does that! Sometimes when we give ourselves permission to eat something like that we don't even want it anymore.

LOL You can't deprive yourself of chocolate forever... For crying out load, we didn't have the Gastric Bypass for that very reason. However, just remember everything you've gone thru to get this far !!! chocolate isn't worth the exchange of 75 plus pounds. Besides the Chocolate Demon doesn't look good in a pair of jeans (the size we thought we would never see).

Stay focused.. Be kind to yourself.. You can do it.

We are women!

chocolate is our enemy!!! I have the same chocolate monkey on my back too

I do not deprive it especially when PMS hits...I just 1 or 2 hershey kisses or a miniture hershey bar and it seems to do the trick without over indulging...

I find that really good, really dark chocolate does the trick for me. Just one or two of the dark dove treasures... Of course, I have a bag of Peanut Butter M&M's in the fridge that I've had for 6 weeks.... So, I guess don't listen to me...

Wow, you have done a great job with your weight loss work! No pitty from me!

This isnt a demon its a fairy that visits many of us. I've danced with it the whole time! Renewed vigor and beginnings.! You may have lost a battle or two but you can win the war!!

You have made the sacrifices and have the tools now get on with what you have to do... You can send the fairy on!! :bandit

I have lived with the chocolate fairy/demon all my life and it just doesn't get any better lol!!

Seriously I tend to go through phases where I don't touch it for a few weeks then I can't get enough of the stuff its so depressing.

You have done amazing though so well done, its really spurred me on reading your post seeing that you love chocolate and have still managed to lose an amazing 72lbs its fantastic so be very, very proud of yourself.

Well I'm really pissed off now

That creep. The demon has been spending time at my house the last week and the whole time she was calling others. Why that two timing S.O.B...

Changed the locks on my house and she is out in the cold. No more will I believe her when she whispers in my ear that she loves me and only me.

Kick her out of your place Wyld...get her out before she breaks your heart too.

Well, since Valentine's Day is almost upon us, there is chocolate everywhere I look at work. Finally, yesterday I allowed myself to have 4 hershey kisses. Not bad considering I coulda had a TON!!! I find that the more I tell myself I can't have something, the more I want it, so sometimes giving in and having a little is good thing!

BANDSTERS are the BEST!!!! Thank you all for the support in extracating the demon (I don't see the faerie part....it is too annoying...lol) from my life...I am still struggling with him...but I think that he has seen the army of bandsters I have on my side and his power is diminishing a bit. Hopefully, when it gets to be "that time of the month", he won't dare try to attack again. I may have to wear a necklace of garlic (hmmmm if this doesn't repel this demon, it may repel my customers! LOL). If he behaves, I MAY reward him with a tiny piece of dark chocolate every day (it is suppose to help your heart after all). BUT, not until he promises, and signs in chocolate his promise to behave.

Thank you all so much

I don't think it's a demon. I'm quite sure it's a demoness. It has long red claws and spiked heels and is simply too cunning to be a man. That evil two-timing bitch paid me a visit last night, too. And she brought a variety of friends (thanks be it to Hubby's birthday.) She's so friggin seductive that I just allowed her and her sidekicks to slide right down the pie-hole. She has zero respect for the hard work I've done or the pain I've endured. And she's rude, too, because NOBODY invited her into my head, yet she won't get the hell out - like a really bad inlaw.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
