I’m drawing a line under last week and moving swiftly on! Emotions were all over the place, pains were getting to unbearable levels and eating sensibly went by the by. 2.5lbs up on my lowest (it could have been so much worse 😮) Just putting it down to experience and carrying on.

My clothing is fitting better and I’ve managed to wear a ring that I’ve not been able to get on my finger for quite some time so the NSV are continuing, which are all positives.

Hope everyone has a great start to their week 🙂

Onwards and Downwards!

I'm so sorry you had such a rough week!!! I hope the pain is getting better now. Just think positive that this will be a better week for you :) Fantastic job keeping your eyes on the NSV when the scale isn't doing what you want. That's exactly the right thing to do. Feel better!!!

I think there must be something in the air! My emotions were also a rollercoaster, especially on the weekend where I spent most of it crying 😂

Really sorry you had such a low one - but can I just say how happy I am for you for your NSVs - you are doing amazingly x

I love that you are able to compartmentalize it and focus on your non scale victories. That attitude should carry you far in all of this.

Pain will be with me for a while yet but I just need to focus on other things for the time being 🙂 We have to take our wins where we can! 😉

Ah this is so part of the journey and of life after surgery.

I love that you're focusing on your NSVs, but also analyse the HECK out of your down week to see where you went off piste. That will help you to ensure you don't fall into that particular trap again. Knowledge is power in this process. We've all made mistakes (we are human) what matters is how we take that experience forward.

I hope you can regroup, rediscover your mojo and smash it next week!!! All here for you OP.

Thanks @Spinoza. I’m pre-op so testing the waters for now 🙂 Trying to get my head around things and get some control. I do find that, once I’ve wandered off-plan and my focus isn’t as sharp, it can be really hard to get back to it, which is something many of us suffer with! Definitely need to regroup and rediscover my mojo - thanks for the reminder 😉

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
