Best protein water

Recommended Posts

My sleeve surgery was a few years ago and apparently some things have changed. I got some of the premiere vanilla shakes that I drank immediately pre and post op and I couldn’t even get a whole one down. I remembered that I did get sick of them and I switched to their clear Protein Drinks but apparently they are not as popular because they aren’t as readily available. I was thinking something from the grocery store makes more sense so I can get it if I’m out and about plus I don’t have to buy it by the case. Does Anyone have any favorites. I don’t like peach or orange.

Not grocery store related but I use My Protein clear lemon & lime flavoured protein.

I have it in single sachets to keep in my bag, some of their premixed bottles and then their tub powder format which I keep at home and the office.

I have a lot of problems with the sweeteners in most shakes and powders. Sometimes just adding a few squirts of lemon (if you can handle the acidity) into a clear Protein Water helps -- or literally water it down until it's more palatable. I found mixing Premier Protein shakes with fairlife milk and/or coffee was a big help.

(I don't like peach, but I like the sweetener in Isoflex's Peach/Mango Chiller -- and I can mask the flavour with lemon juice.)

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
