Dchonlee 214 Posted June 9, 2024 Hey guys, I’ve been searching for a community that I can express my concerns & overall thoughts to about my journey. I’m 29 years old and decided for my overall wellbeing & happiness to get the gastric sleeve. The process was pretty smooth. I inquired in November & got my date in May & now as of today I am 5 days post op with my first post op appointment tomorrow. I started out 217 but as you know the liquid diet sheds off alot. On the day of surgery I was 199. Today I’m 195. I’m hoping that with this forum i’m able to navigate this new season. I refused to eat or consume anything at first because I loathe throwing up (let alone what it would feel like to throw up with 20% of your stomach🥴😂). But today I finally had creamy ginnoch Soup after slowly just sipping Protein smoothies. i felt like… a uncomfortable pressure after maybe 10 sips. (It taste so good). So I immediately stopped and it has now subsided. that’s all for now! If you got this far, thanks for reading😊 5 TwinkleToes87, BlueParis, Arabesque and 2 others reacted to this

summerseeker 2,236 Posted June 10, 2024 Hello and welcome into the forum. Congratulations on getting so far along. Your stomach has a huge cut and stitch line, it is swollen and will take a while to heal. It is tough to progress through the stages with all this but just try your best. It is ok to go back a step for a few days. The pressure in your chest is because it cant all get into your stomach at the moment. Sip slowly If you get more nausea you may need a PPI 1 TwinkleToes87 reacted to this
JennyBeez 289 Posted June 10, 2024 Welcome! I'm still a baby here myself (almost 12 weeks post-OP). I remember my first sip of creamy chicken broth on day 4, it felt like life and optimism was returning to me! If you need to, slow down even further. I remember my care team said 1 teaspoon every 5 minutes (when I was first reintroducing non-protein shake liquids), and sometimes that worked for me and sometimes it didn't. Most broths I could get down in shorter time, but creamier Soups it would take quite a bit longer. You get used to either reheating your Soup or sipping it cold, lol. XD 1 DaphneJax reacted to this
