Indoor or Outdoor Exercise

Recommended Posts

I like both for different reasons. Indoor time is more intense and I regard it as training for the opportunities be outside engaging in activities that I find fulfilling, like swimming, camping, boating, and hiking.

I love walking outdoors. I get a huge buzz from just walking quick. I hope the feeling never grows old. Pre surgery, I couldn't walk without a stick and was a out of breath, sweaty mess. I had to Google every destination to be sure that the journey was do-able for me.

my inside exercise is pilates, hot yoga, lane swimming, rock-climbing, and in-front-of-tv-weight-training (i also do a a rotating schedule of different dance classes).

my outside exercise is running.

i also do alot of other "outdoor activities" but i don't consider them dedicated exercise, its just stuff i do: walking, hiking, biking, softball, beach volleyball. i'm in toronto, Canada, so my outdoor activities are concentrated in the warmer months. in the winter i may go hiking or skiing, but not very often (and i don't run in the winter either).

exercise is exercise no matter where you do it....but if you do alot outdoors, don't forget the sunscreen and hats!!

other than walking, my primary warm weather exercise is biking, and my primary cold weather exercise is Water aerobics so...both!

I am an outdoor walker through and through - all weathers. I have dogs so this has always been non-negotiable, LOL.

I also do Pilates (indoors obvs) 2 or 3 times a week nowadays. I enjoy that in a different way.

Honestly anything you can do and enjoy you're more likely to keep going with. If you can click with that then do it. Horses for courses!

I love both. My Fitbit says I burn more energy outside, and I feel more refreshed emotionally when in nature. So I guess I lean towards outside but I changed my living room into a gym so I would have no excuses. Lol it worked! (It keeps me from yelling at my family when my job is stressful too.)

I do both. I take long walks up hills and around a lake and even up rocky paths to the waterfall. You can't beat a beautiful breeze, nature, Water, it's fantastic. Indoors is more for my actual working out. Weights, core and strength training, etc... 2 totally different beasts that do different things.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

      2. BlondePatriotInCDA

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
