JennyBeez 289 Posted June 3, 2024 Week 11 tomorrow, and I definitely notice more shedding now -- and all of a sudden, the ends of my hair seem to be getting drier and more brittle. I guess it's 'begun' 🙈

Have you seen a dermatologist who specialises in Hair loss issues? There may be something else going on. What are your blood work results like? Have you had your hormone levels checked? 1 fed-up reacted to this

Arabesque 7,414 Posted August 9, 2024 Oh no, @fed-up. I’m going through this too & waiting for results (an undiagnosed cervical mass) so I know how you’re feeling. Those ‘it could be nothing but ….’ statements from the specialists are the worst and then the waiting for results are a rollercoaster. You’ll be in my prayers. Fingers crossed for an all clear. 2 MrsFitz and FifiLux reacted to this
MrsFitz 441 Posted August 9, 2024 @fed-up and @Arabesque so very sorry that both of you are going through this horrible, stressful “Is it? Isn’t it?” journey right now. Sometimes life just throws 💩 at you and expects you to deal 😕 Take care both of you 💜💜 1 Arabesque reacted to this
fed-up 72 Posted August 9, 2024 Thank you Mrs Fitz .Arabesque - mine is vaginal too ! had hysterectomy years ago and started spotting blood just lately .GP looked and doesn't know what it is so being fast tracked for poss vaginal cancer - so like you ! the wait is unbearable isn't it ? x
Arabesque 7,414 Posted August 10, 2024 Thank you @MrsFitz. It has been pretty crappy lately. I had small fibroids picked up last year & GP sent me for a follow up ultra sound to check growth in June which was when they picked up the cervical fibroid had grown but they questioned if it was a fibroid or something else. Sent to gyno. Sent for an MRI & they still don’t know what it is. Sent to a gyno oncologist. Waiting for deeper Pap smear result but considering a hysterectomy regardless of the results (she doesn’t know if the deeper Pap smear into the cervix actually reached the mass so another may not be an accurate test & result). At least, I’ve been able to get appointments to see each specialist comparatively very quickly: about 2 months from when I got referral from GP for ultrasound. I hope your getting appointments quickly too @fed-up & we get an answer and a way forward soon.
fed-up 72 Posted August 21, 2024 Hi Arabesque and all .Well they think the lesion in my vagina is Mesh poking through from a vaginal tape op I had 20 years ago .There is a big forum on Facebook where thousands of other women who had TVT and TOT ops , are now suffering quite badly from the mesh they used .It breaks down and migrates to other parts of the body where it causes havoc, and sometimes death .I am seeing a senior surgeon tomorrow for further biopsies and to work out the way from here . Thanks for reading x

ShoppGirl 5,003 Posted August 22, 2024 My husband did not have surgery but he has normal male Hair loss and he used nioxin and said even his hairdresser noticed how well it works. You really do have to wash it everyday though.

Thanks for reading x Oh my gracious. I remember there were a lot of issues with the earlier meshes they used for various surgeries years ago which must be what you’re experiencing. Let’s hope it’s an easy remedy. PS - the second lap smear was still inconclusive. It didn’t pick up cervical cells at all so still no idea. So decided after a conversation with the surgeon on Tuesday to progress with a hysterectomy just in case and also if it is nothing untoward it likely will still continue to grow & then may cause issues in the future. Surgery is in three weeks Monday. Have a few events so I put it off until after them. 2 MrsFitz and FifiLux reacted to this
