Bypass2Freedom 867 Posted May 16, 2024 So my surgery went successfully on 14/05/24. The first night was beyond rough, I don't think anything can prepare you for the gas pain! It was the first time I'd been in hospital & had surgery as an adult so it was very daunting, but everything went well. I am home now after 2 nights in the hospital, and I am feeling quite tender but I am not sure if this is just the residual gas pain, or just the feeling of overwhelming fullness when I am trying to drink water! I am really glad it is done now, but it is a bit overwhelming to begin with! Thank you everyone who sent me well wishes x 4 2 2 NickelChip, kezbeth, Arabesque and 5 others reacted to this

NickelChip 1,318 Posted May 16, 2024 Congratulations! The first few weeks are hard. Everything is so new, and no matter how much you've read up and know the facts, the reality is enough to make you question yourself all the time. But it does get easier! And even when you make mistakes, it's not the end of the world. Use this recovery time to rest and start good habits and you'll do well! 1 Bypass2Freedom reacted to this
Bypass2Freedom 867 Posted May 16, 2024 @NickelChip Thank you for your advice, I really do appreciate it. It feels so strange - like I need to burp but I am struggling to and it just sits there like a tightness in my chest! Ugh. I will take it as easy as I can! SleeveToBypass2023 2,659 Posted May 17, 2024 Congrats!!! The first 2-3 weeks seriously suck. After that, it gets easier and you really start to learn your new body. Just prioritize walking, getting in your fluids, and getting in your Protein. Don't rush things, stick to your meal plan, and trust the process. Weight loss stalls are NORMAL and to be expected. Watch for NSVs (Non scale Victories) when the scale isn't moving. You got this!! 1 Bypass2Freedom reacted to this
Bypass2Freedom 867 Posted May 17, 2024 @SleeveToBypass2023 Thank you! I have made the decision not to weigh myself for the 4 weeks that I am on my post-op diet, just because I don't want to get fixated when my body is still learning this new way of living! I am definitely struggling to get food in at the moment! But I shall keep trying! ❤️ 1 SleeveToBypass2023 reacted to this
