Hello From Sunny (Warm) California!

Recommended Posts

Hello folks, my name is Julia and this is my first time posting to the forum. I have enjoyed the posts and am so encouraged by the weight loss you all have had. Like many of you, I have tried every diet, pill and frankly, drastic measure for weight loss there is! I enjoy exerciseing and have that going for me, but even while in the military, I had a weight problem. I am 100% certain I will be having this surgery. Right now, I am just working with the financing options. Hey, has anyone got advice for me with the Meixico Doctors choice of finance companies?

I would like some input too, on what the handouts say about an aproximate loss of 38% as being realistic. Based on the success pictures I see and what I have read alot of you folks saying, people seem to loose more? What do you all think?

naa- you'll loose a lot more! go for it! I have really been happy with my results so far! Its just that it is easy to cheat with high calorie liquids you have to remeber its a tool, not a total solution. You do FIll up WAY earlier and you can even throw up if you eat too much or to fast- a huge reason not to do so! Good luck!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
