Thirsty after eating

Recommended Posts

I'm over 2 months out and im eating small meals. I'm so thirsty after eating and the 30 mins is literally making me ant to scream. How do I get past this? I have to put Water in my mouth and spit it out because I'm so thirsty. It's hard enough no drinking while eating. Am I alone in this??

I have never heard if this before. What is your Fluid intake over the course of a day? Are your meals especially salty or sugary? Do you have diabetes? Have you been tested for diabetes. I do get thirsty when I have had too much sugary/salty foods but I am a diabetic. When I return to taking better care of my food and fluid intake it seems to get better.

For me, the desire to have a drink of something after a meal was such a hard habit to break. But that was just it- it was a head thing, not a physical one. I would give myself just a tiny sip of Water to rinse my mouth— but if I went overboard my stomach would hurt. As you see what works for you, see if something like a biotene mouth spray would help— and as above mentioned, ask your drs if you should see if you have medical issue.

I've heard other ppl on the medical sites say the same thing. I'm almost 60 and have always drank with my food. My mouth is very dry after I eat. It could be the seasoning because I'm from a Cajun family and we love our seasoning. Guess I will learn to deal with it. I dont do sugar because I'm pre-diabetic. I hope it gets better.
