When hair thins after surgery, is loss more noticeable with shorter or longer hair? I’ve had a pixie style cut for years and just started growing it out. Now I’m wondering if I should keep the pixie cut until after the thinning stage? Surgery is next week so I have some time to let it grow

I wouldn’t worry yet but wait until you start to lose your hair. You don’t know how much you will shed. You may not have to do a thing. You usually start to shed around month 4 so your hair wouldn’t have grown much in those 4 months (about 2 inches) and you may not need to do a thing.

I had long thick hair & cut it in stages. Cut a few inches off after a month because it was looking a little thin at the ends (well thin for me but not for most). I then went to just above my shoulders the next month when I’d lost some more. I didn’t lose a lot but short hair is always bouncier & looks thicker than long which is why I cut it.

I would wait, too. Not everyone loses hair. Plus some (like me) lose so little that it's not noticeable.

I think in general terms shorter cuts hide Hair loss better - IF you do experience significant loss.

I lost a lot of hair, in three distinct waves. Plus my hair grows (and regrows) abnormally slowly. I'm 28 months post surgery and my last phase of regrowth is just about below my ears now. I've had to cut my hair shorter than I normally would for about 18 months but I think I'll finally be back to my usual below shoulder length soon.

Have to say it's been an opportunity to experiment that I would never have had otherwise! Maybe try new stuff if you need to?

My hair started thinning around 3 months post surgery. It thinned out until about 9 months out and then slowly stopped. I cut my hair to juuuuuuuust shoulder length and used volumizing and thickening Shampoo and conditioner, and it's really helped. The longer your hair, the heavier it is and can make the thinning more noticeable.

I had waist length hair at surgery start- not too thick. Starting losing hair about 3 months out, like others— and while the length helped hide it at the start, toward the end my ends were super thin. At 9 or so months out I went and cut about 6 inches- and it does look much fuller now. I can see baby hairs have been growing in all over, and have some about 4 inches that can stand out if I dont smooth them down, especially around the edges of my hairline. Luckily the regrowth is coming in white and I totally love it! No more coloring my hair, and it feels soft and healthy.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
