TippyDScale 2 Posted December 24, 2023 Hi all! First time posting. I had the VSG on May 22 of this year at Barix Clinics in Michigan. I am glad I made the decision to take control of my life. Idc what anyone says, this surgery as scary as it is, saved my life. It changed me and my a habits permanently. I just wanted to check in to see if anyone has or remembers what 7 months post op felt like for them. Triumphs and NSV ? Need some hopeful long term losers…. I’m a slow loser. 1 Arabesque reacted to this
matt917 17 Posted December 25, 2023 I’ve had mine on May 3rd. Best decision ever. I’ve been at my lowest weight in almost 10 years. Around the 5 month mark, Ive plateau. I’m still dropping some weight but a lot slower than I want. Hopefully the next 5 months, I’ll reach my goal weight. 1 TippyDScale reacted to this
TippyDScale 2 Posted December 26, 2023 Ay, cheers to that! Yeah, patiently working towards that feeling of hitting that goal! I’m enjoying the NSVs. For example, being able to wrap a regular ‘ole towel all the way around me. I can definitely relate. Just last month, I hit a stall but it happens. Can you handle any type of carb based food? I ask because trying to talk to the NUT about reintroducing them in my diet.
CarolineLittle 92 Posted December 26, 2023 I was sleeved 10 May, all good here, no issues. I've been lucky enough to lose every week, apart from a 10 day plateau 2 weeks after surgery. I put my success down to tracking daily and hitting my Protein goal consistently. I eat really well for the most part too apart from an occasional treat. I eat carbs, I'm learning to accept that carbs aren't the devil. I don't eat bread itself much, but enjoy low carb wraps daily. Also been having a muktigrain muffin every day with Peanut Butter. It's 20 carbs, not terrible IMHO. I include brown rice, Pasta, potato, protein is the focus of course. Of a meal carbs might make up a quarter for example. My carbs average around a hundred a day, give or take. I'm a vegetarian so the bulk of it comes from legumes and vegetables, also fruit which I eat daily. 1 TippyDScale reacted to this
matt917 17 Posted January 3, 2024 I went on vacation last month. Eating out was a struggle. I haven’t made my surgery public to a lot of my friends. I can never finish my entree. I usually order fish as the portion is a lot smaller. Eating Protein first then the carbs last. I still feel very bad for throwing away half my plate. Skip the appetizers lol. 1 TippyDScale reacted to this

Doing this journey going from not eating carbs and then reintroducing them as needed is key. I’ve lost weight, but it comes in stages. I’ll lose inches first, then the scale will be stuck. Then all of sudden the following month, boom, ten pounds gone. I was weighing daily then weekly and now I weigh every other week. Protein is vital. 1 CarolineLittle reacted to this

Triumphs and NSV ? at 7 months my triumph/sv was reaching a my "revised" goal. i basically called goal 7 lbs above my original as i felt as i was looking way too skelator-ish. I was eating about less than 800 cals a day at the time and decided to start upping my cals. got to about 1500 cals 3 months later and settled into about 1800 today (5+ yrs later) ..,i was up to over 2300 at one point, but i was an exercise fiend during that era. i was exercising min 1 hour a day (sometimes twice a day) almost every day at the time. Today im at it 1-2 times a week. despite all this i weigh less today than both my original and revised goals. go figure. AND, i dont look skelator-ish at all. SCORE! lol WLS is still one of the best decisions i've made so far. Good Luck! ❤️ 1 1 TippyDScale and CarolineLittle reacted to this
