Current and Local and Breaking News for Denver, Colorado and the surrounding area : Rocky Mountain News

Check this one out. Here in Colorado people who bought a prime landlot in the '80's, paid taxes, kept the lot in good condition are rewarded with having to GIVE a large portion of their land to the people who live next door. All of this BECAUSE the landgrabbers (squatters) supposedly have been using this land as their own for years. They live in the house next to the land. Of course if the original owners chose to build a house there, it would block the landgrabbers beautiful view of the Boulder FlatIrons Mtn Range.

OUTRAGEOUS! I'm not surprised he's a former judge, mayor, and politician.

Once I was in small claim's court awaiting my turn, listening in on another case. I don't remember the details, but I do remember the losing party saying to the judge, "But the LAW says . . .". She cut him off, saying, "I don't care what the law says. In this courtroom, I AM THE LAW."

I will never forget that. A measly small claims court judge screaming out "I AM THE LAW" -- and meaning it -- to the detriment of this poor business owner who had just followed the ACTUAL law.

Reminds me of an old saying that my parents take to heart that my pediatrician had on all her notepads when I was growing up:

"Any government big enough to give you everything you want is big enough to take away everythig you have"

These stories reinforce my hatred for big government and socialist liberals.

I still can't believe it's happening but it sure looks like the "you scratch my back, I'll scratch yours" "justice" network is going strong. These people are going to appeal....Keep your fingers crossed for them...

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
