Getting your hair professionally colored?

Hi! Pre-op but former hairstylist. I think it depends what color service. If you're doing something more gentle like depositing color (going darker) you'd probably be fine. Anything like bleaching or going red (red has ammonia which is damaging) or chemical straighteners would be pretty harsh on your hair and may exacerbate any Hair loss you may be experiencing. I hope that helps. :.)

I've been coloring mine with semi-permanent prior to the surgery and I've been maintaining that since my surgery back in January. No problems so far... not too much hair shedding. I'll take it because I had no clue as to what to expect when the Hair loss was discussed back in May with my surgeon.

I colored my hair a week out of surgery. Due for another color tomorrow. No one told me you cant color but as for hair falling out, It's perfectly normal. I'm going to add a YouTube video of an awesome bariatric doctor explaining why it happens. It has nothing to do with coloring.

I lost a lot of hair, good thing it was really thick to begin with. But I still color my hair. It’s not been worse after coloring. Hope that helps.

I also colored my hair not too long after surgery and was concerned when I started noticing some Hair loss. It’s reassuring to hear that it’s normal and not related to the coloring process. I'll definitely check out that YouTube video you linked for more info. I've been using Virgo de Novo styling products, and they’ve really helped keep my hair healthy and vibrant despite the coloring. I think their products are fantastic for anyone looking to maintain their hair post-surgery.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
