Shnee 7 Posted October 21, 2023 Yes me too I’m 4days out and I do get hunger pains but I found the best broth at Quick Qeck chicken noodle is the best, I just have the broth. We are going to make it cause the next chapter in our lives will be the best chapters. 1 New To This23 reacted to this
Liz R 15 Posted October 22, 2023 This is day 2 for me. I'm still in the hospital, but tolerating everything I have tried so far - pretty grateful for that Popsicle, broth, Jell-O, Gatorade My favorite is ice 🧊 chips. I am getting up and walking every few hours, which is recommended!! 1 New To This23 reacted to this

It can also be from certain medications like Iron. The diarrhea part I’m not quite sure about. You should definitely call your doctor with your concerns. EileenMcMahon 3 Posted October 22, 2023 My surgery was on October 20. I’m told the surgery itself was textbook. The worst part of the post-op thus far has been the pain from getting in and out of bed. Otherwise the pain was very tolerable. Sip, sip, sip….my mantra now. After two nights in the hospital, I am being discharged. Looking forward to getting home and beginning this new phase of my life journey. 2 New To This23 and Maliraptor reacted to this
corinneblooms 1 Posted October 23, 2023 Hi! I had my surgery on the 16th of October Australian time, so the 17th for a lot of the rest of the world! I'm a week out today. I'm adapting well, to the shift in liquid diet for someone who forgets to eat all the time! I still have a lot of pain that feels like GERD/reflux pain, but it's not unmanageable. I see the GP (not my usual, she's on holiday, but I'll be so jazzed to see her and show her my scars!) on Wednesday to get my incisions checked out, but they feel totally fine. I have been a little bummed that I got the illusion from social media that recovery would be a breeze. 😂 How is everyone else doing? Recovery-wise or in anticipation? I can't wait to get to know you all!

For me they were 'normal' coloured and firmer than usual. A little different in colour I think is not out of the question, neither is loose- and dark might just be Iron supplementation, but it can also be an indicator of something more serious- definitely worth checking in with your team to make sure it's all ok! Let me know how you go?
corinneblooms 1 Posted October 23, 2023 My question for the group! Pain: for me has been very much like GERD, I'm fine when I wake, but standing and starting the day is not fun, then I'm on a constant battle- it hurts if I have too much, it hurts if I have to little, it hurts if my stomach is empty. I have a lot of radiating back pain, which I am assuming is just referred pain- But I suppose I'm looking for insights to shared or similar experience? I'll be asking my doc, and I'm trying not to worry about it, but also.. worrying is my side hustle. 😂 1 New To This23 reacted to this

The hospital 2 days were uneventful, first few days at home were a relative breeze, some abdominal pain aside- didn’t take any pain meds. I ran into a problem Friday night, blood pressure and heart rate bouncing around, mild fever (100 degrees Fahrenheit) off and on. Kinda scary, not dehydrated (drinking pretty well) but on bp meds. Feeling better today but waiting to hear back from cardiologist. It’s a bit of a roller coaster ride for sure.

Best description I've seen for what this feels like. I'm 4 days post-op and still learning what my stomach is asking for. More, less, none? Pain is tolerable, getting out of bed is the hardest part for sure. I'm so tired, as well. Many naps. I also am struggling to get in the required amount of Protein and fluids- I'm hoping today is easier because hopefully my stomach is less swollen and painful.
