ktsinc 4 Posted August 20, 2023 Hello! I’m expecting to get sleeved in late September, but I also have a big trip planned in December that’s been planned and delayed since pre-COVID. Did anyone travel long distance shortly after surgery? I’m not worried about what food will be available, moreso the physical and mental stress of a trip that soon after. I’m expecting to be back on soft food and the doctor said I can fly if I’m up to it, just curious if anyone has actually done something similar and how it went! hills&valleys 130 Posted August 20, 2023 Everyone's recovery is unique but based on averages, most people have regained the majority of their strength and beginning to settle into a new "normal" eating routine at 8 to 10 weeks. Remember to use caution when introducing new foods. Our tummies can often be disagreeable for the first 6 months. 1 Arabesque reacted to this
Sigh 196 Posted August 20, 2023 I went to Europe (from the states) for a month at my month 4 mark— you should be great at 3 months- be sure to start walking so you are physically fit as well. Be sure to have a plan for Vitamins early on as well. Get out and enjoy your life! 1 learn2cook reacted to this
volfan 78 Posted September 16, 2023 6yrs out, 2 months later, not only could I fly, but much more comfortably! You will be healthier and more active than presurgery I promise. I was walking 5 miles a day one month out. Stop worrying and just don't buy clothes early, you might be surprised what doesn't fit, that should be your biggest worry. I flew 4 times Cross Continental by the time I was two and a half months out. You got this!
