LandofHopeandDreams 26 Posted September 8, 2023 Hey all, sleeve done on Sep 6 and am home. Not sure if it's gas or just cramping or nausea but definitely not a fun feeling lol. Abdominal wall pain is more than I expected but trying to get up and walk through that pain. Hoe everyone is doing well!! 1 NettyD reacted to this
Ranger Bear 5 Posted September 9, 2023 Two days post- op from my gastric bypass. The abdominal pain is the worst part particularly in bed finding a good sleeping position. I don’t take pain meds at night but they probably would help. Sipping Water and getting Proteins in is a full time job but I’m getting the hang of it. My favorite drinks so far have been the Unjury vanilla premade drink and the unjury chicken Soup. I plan to try yogurt with unflavored Protein Powder in the next few days. Best wish to everyone wherever you are in the journey! 1 NettyD reacted to this

Anomalia 6 Posted September 9, 2023 Sleeved on Wednesday and now home recuperating! Had a "surprise" hiatal hernia fix which lead to some extra pain. Had some trouble sleeping, I didn't even think about the fact that I am a stomach sleeper when I went into this! So staying off my stomach at night is tricky. Got my bare minimum (60g) of Protein today, which took a lot of work. Still nowhere near 60 oz of Fluid but working on it.
a0b0cm4 1 Posted September 9, 2023 Scheduled for my gastric bypass for September 15. Started my liquid diet yesterday and it’s going pretty good. 1 MaryJ2299 reacted to this
Jamie D76 1 Posted September 9, 2023 Hello All- I just had my vertical sleeve and hiatal hernia repaired on the 7th. I’m not sure if I was quite prepared for the gas pain and big incision pain. I just have to keep reminding myself that I’m a work in progress and that the pain is temporary. It is slowly easing. Best wishes to all- JD 1 NettyD reacted to this
Sleeveme_Please 22 Posted September 9, 2023 Was sleeved 9/5 and was discharged 9/8. I was kept for observation due to pain, nausea, and low heart rate. The gas pain was no fun, that has subsided and now it’s just abdominal/incision pain. The hardest part is making sure I’m getting in Protein and fluids. I found a Premier Protein peaches and cream shake that I love. Most smells turn my stomach but this doesn’t. Has anyone been experiencing dizziness during recovery? 1 NettyD reacted to this
Breaking notsobad 56 Posted September 9, 2023 @ElleRodriStarting just a one week pre-op diet Monday. Tomorrow's my "last real meal." KFC Original recipe and I love their cole slaw! 1 NettyD reacted to this
ChristopherD 2 Posted September 9, 2023 I had my VSG on Wednesday morning, spent one night in the hospital and then was discharged Thursday in the AM. I'm doing ok, having moments of nausea, cramping and foaming in the mouth like my saliva glands suddenly kicked into overdrive. I'm doing well with getting Water in and started with full liquids today. As many suggested, walking around has helped with gas pains and cramping. I'm hanging in there. 1 NettyD reacted to this

BigBlue 3 Posted September 11, 2023 Started the 2 week pre-op diet today. My plan is basically liquids for the two weeks. I can have occasional cheese stick or egg. Like others here, I had a goodbye (for now) food tour over the last two weeks. On the way home from my “last” meal of a vegan burger and tater tots, I really started to feel panic for the first time in this whole process. I’m an anxious person, but this felt way more than my usual anxiety. Glad to have this community of others going through the same stuff.
