MsTeeTee 72 Posted July 31, 2023 I’m ready to waist train or at least wear stomach compression garments. I’m so soft all over like pudding or Winnie the Pooh. Lol My insides don’t feel like peas and carrots floating in broth anymore. Lol Any advice? I’m 7 days post op. Surgery was July 24,2023. 1 GreenTealael reacted to this
CarmenG 151 Posted July 31, 2023 I wondered about them as well. I've used girdles and waist cinchers throughout the years since Middle School. I waited until my incisions were completely healed on the outside because I thought if I sweat, the moisture and bacteria will cause an infection on the incision sites. So, now, they've all healed up and I tried on the one I just bought. Man, it was painful! I don't know if it's due to the fact that I've gone years without one or because I'm still healing on the inside. I thought I'd give myself another few weeks and try again. IMO, maybe wait until all incisions on your tummy are healed because added moisture could cause bacteria and infection. 3 GreenTealael, SleeveToBypass2023 and MsTeeTee reacted to this
pintsizedmallrat 473 Posted July 31, 2023 I would be concerned that would exacerbate any acid reflux you may encounter by squeezing your middle like that.
BabySpoons 617 Posted July 31, 2023 I'd be concerned about squeezing my internal organs before total healing. Here's a discussion from 2015 about waist training after WLS. CarmenG 151 Posted July 31, 2023 In my situation, it's not a the type of waist trainer or corset that keeps getting more and more tightened for an unnaturally small waist. Some of us are genetically inclined to have hourglass or pear-shaped bodies. The waist cinchers I'm talking about are really just a type of girdle that I've worn on and off since I was a teenager, sold at most department stores. Some are only worn under more shape-fitting clothes, some are only worn while exercising (the ones that make you sweat). It's never been anything extreme like the ladies who want 14-inch waists and wear them 24/7, LOL! I'm adding 2 photos of me 1.5 years after my 2009 sleeve, and I would wear the waist cinchers just to smooth things out under my clothes and help me get my shape back. I just want to get back to this: DISCLAIMER: I do not look like this anymore. It's my long-term goal. 2 BabySpoons and MsTeeTee reacted to this

I don’t want any tight enough to take my breath away. Just enough to tuck everything in and medium firm hold it together. Basically girdle vibes. 1 CarmenG reacted to this

I just took a look at that article that was tagged. I should be able to handle Spanx. I will give it a try. Nothing too crazy right or touching my skin directly or on for hours either. 1 CarmenG reacted to this

Sigh 196 Posted August 1, 2023 After breast reduction, my surgeon put me in compression wraps- bustline to hip, just to pull everything in. They did the same after my sister’s tummy tuck— id look to something more like that- it was surgical compression with velcro— it SUCKED to wear, but it was required for about 6-8 weeks. As earlier advised, dont do something too tight, but it could be supportive.

They are a lil pricey but it seems worth it. Several bariatric patients told me in person that I need to wear a girdle of some sort to help with the excess skin amount and weight loss . Told me it will help out a lot for contouring without having to get a lot of surgery. 1 CarmenG reacted to this
