GettinSkinnywithit 180 Posted July 27, 2023 Anyone use the Viactiv calcium chews? At $.10 per chew they are 1/4 the other ones online.
Jonathan Carlson 73 Posted July 27, 2023 I think those particular chews are Calcium carbonate. They taste fine, at least the ones I had which were caramel. The problem for me is that I had kidney stones so I have to try and stay away from calcium carbonate. I buy calcium citrate which is more expensive. 1 GettinSkinnywithit reacted to this
CarmenG 151 Posted July 27, 2023 Usually doctors will suggest calcium citrate because it's more readily absorbed than Calcium carbonate. Viactiv is calcium carbonate.
KathyLev 285 Posted July 27, 2023 I'm taking Caltrate.I just checked the label - it's Calcium carbonate. That's good to know . I'm always learning something new here !!! 1 CarmenG reacted to this
GettinSkinnywithit 180 Posted July 27, 2023 I didn’t think about the different types and absorption rates. Good info - thanks! 1 CarmenG reacted to this
catwoman7 11,220 Posted July 28, 2023 we were also told to take calcium citrate - it's much more easily absorbed by us. And yes - unfortunately, it's more expensive than Calcium carbonate. 1 KathyLev reacted to this
