DemiDem 0 Posted July 15, 2023 I am currently 10 days post op Vsg. I don’t seem to have any restriction when eating. Has anyone experienced this ?
catwoman7 11,221 Posted July 15, 2023 most of us don't start feeling the restriction until we move to solid foods. 1 Tomo reacted to this
DemiDem 0 Posted July 15, 2023 Thank you. I was worried. I was having nausea episodes and my doctor told me to try saltine crackers. I purchased the mini ones and it seems I can eat them by the handful with no issue.
sleevedinthe817 32 Posted July 15, 2023 I think I’ve read about the slider foods like crackers being an issue for people because they go down so easily and they can eat quite a few of them.
CarmenG 151 Posted July 16, 2023 Solid foods will definitely make you feel the restriction. Also, as you heal and scar tissue forms, you'll feel more restriction as well.
SleeveToBypass2023 2,673 Posted July 16, 2023 I personally never had it past week 4, and what little I had was barely there. Most people notice it after they start solids. I didn't. I had my revision to bypass on the 28th and I'm on week 3 foods and feel no restriction. I guess I'm just one of the lucky ones. 1 Jewels38 reacted to this
DreaMichelle 1 Posted July 17, 2023 I’m 4 days postop and eating soft foods. My nose starts to rub after about an once of yogurt. Was about to get through a full serving of cottage cheese w/eggs today. But it took 45 mins
MsTeeTee 72 Posted July 23, 2023 Is this bypass or another procedure?

I had to do liquids for 2 weeks post op my DS. And am now on purees for a week. You'll get food soon, hang in there!! Then you'll have to contend with your gut being mad at everything you eat. 😂 I swear my stomach thinks most food is a bad idea. I can eat yogurt, pureed eggs, and fish (my surgeon told me I could eat fish early). This is amusing because eggs and fish are not my favorite foods by any means, but since my tastebuds have changed post surgery they are actually palatable! Everything else I've tried has ended badly in the bathroom... I'm hoping it'll get better once I move to Soft Foods next week!
