CarmenG 151 Posted July 14, 2023 How do y'all sleep? I'm a stomach and side sleeper when I first go to bed, but I always wake up on my back. I'm dying to lie down on my stomach! I've been able to sleep on my left side, not so much my right (it feels weird now). I'm a revision from sleeve to bypass, but my sleeve was over 14 years ago. I honestly don't remember how long it took before I could sleep on my tummy. I'm feeling that frustration from when I was pregnant! LOL! 1 Jalapeño reacted to this
KathyLev 285 Posted July 14, 2023 I think a couple days would be enough time to sleep like you want to. I was sleeping on my side the first night of surgery. The nurse told me not to worry - "you're stitched up tight as a drum and glued on top of that. You're not going to hurt anything". OOhhh I had a good sleep that night ! 1 CarmenG reacted to this
CarmenG 151 Posted July 14, 2023 That's awesome! I never asked my people. I can sleep a bit on my left, but my right feels weird, uncomfortable, like there's something underneath me. I'm 25 days out, so I'm going nuts. Maybe I'll try just lying on my tummy for a bit and see how it feels.

sleevedinthe817 32 Posted July 15, 2023 I started sleeping on my stomach again around 4 days post-op. My neck and back were so messed up from sleeping upright and I just couldn’t do it anymore. I had to turn a little slower at first, but no worries at all now (two weeks post-op). 1 CarmenG reacted to this
catwoman7 11,220 Posted July 15, 2023 it probably varies. I think it was about two weeks for me. 2 Jalapeño and CarmenG reacted to this
Royal Sultan 2 Posted July 16, 2023 I sleep in my recliner for a month post-op before I could sleep comfortably in my bed. 2 CarmenG and Jalapeño reacted to this
CarmenG 151 Posted July 16, 2023 So, today I tried lying down on my stomach and I was very careful moving to get comfortable. But after I settled in, I WAS comfortable. It's getting much easier to move around while lying down. It's getting easier lying on my stomach, and definitely on my left side, and getting in and out of bed. Yay!
