I haven't been in here in a Hot Minute!

I would love to know how everyone is doing. I stopped losing weight at about month 8 or 9 and have maintained, just didn't get to where I had hoped I would. I kind of regret not doing the bypass to be honest.

Otherwise it's been pretty easy.

Hi there!!!

well, the most I lost was 50 lbs and I have gained 20 ish back. I don’t regret my Decision tho, but sad that I didn’t end up better weight wise. Really it’s my doing, going back to bad habits and eating too much.

Suzi Davis- I stopped loosing about a year in and I am stuck at 200lbs as well. Now I will say that i have not worked out since Dec due to the weather and seasonal depression. The lowest is 195 and then right back up to 200lbs. I just dont get it. I need to do a pouch reset I think. My goal is 180. However, the past 6 months I have had two episodes where I pass out due to dehydration bc I forget to get my Water in. Which sucks really bad, because now I have to really watch it.

You may have to reduce your caloric intake more. I’ve run into this problem myself. There have been times when I gained up to 20 pounds. I had to eat less regular foods and more Protein Shakes and Protein in general. I’m not quite back to where I was, but I’m trying.

Good luck!

I’ve lost around 100lbs. I have been gaining and losing the same 4 pounds since last fall, about the same time I hurt my back in the gym. I’m recovered now and need to get back to exercising.

The gastric sleeve has been super helpful because even if I have a cheat meal, it’s very small and almost no weight impact. I’ve always liked Protein heavy meals so this has been pretty easy for me. Limiting bread and sugars, and not drinking soda has gotten me most of the way there. I have started to drink a few beers a week…I try to keep it to lite low cal/carb beer.

I've been at a complete standstill weight loss wise too..for about a month. The same 3 lbs up and down and I haven't reached my goal either at 18 months PO. So I feel your regret even though I had the bypass. They say you can possibly continue to lose for a few years... But I get the feeling my body likes this weight despite what I want! 😆

Hi all - I think it was perhaps about a year ago that I stopped losing weight and even gained a few pounds. My doctor suggested weight loss medication. That has been helping. I am concerned about when I transition off the meds.

At some point we all plateau in our weight loss. The thing to do is hit the Protein Shakes more than you used to. Pretend it’s the earlier stage, where you were limited to Protein shakes and almost no carbs. I’ve had to do that myself when I gain weight or plateau. It’s not what we want, it’s what we need to do.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Am feeling this right now. My surgery date is 4/1. Sign the consent tomorrow. I feel like I overloaded myself with too much info, too many opinions. Got to the point where I was wondering if I should do this. Then I thought of my reasons for taking this step and that settled my nerves. Still get moments of doubt but am striving forward. Am just going to follow my book from the surgeon. Joined this because I was told by my dietician that I should do this for support
