Curious about no iceberg either. It may not have as much nutrition as other leafy greens but it is still good for your heart and has valuable nutrition and helps with hydration.

I reintroduced raw vegetables and nuts on my surgeon's schedule at 3 months, which was the last "salad ingredient" I was restricted from eating. I've never had an issue with salads not agreeing with me; it's all heavy carbs that give me trouble (potatoes, rice, pasta).

It's probably because it is lower in Vitamins and minerals; I don't know if it's a "forbidden" kind of thing or maybe a gentler "Hey if you're going to have a salad choose darker greens that offer more micronutrients because iceberg is basically crunchy water."

Iceberg isn't going to hurt you, it just would probably be better to choose something like spinach or spring mix because those greens contain Iron and Calcium, something we bariatric folks often struggle to get enough of.
