Tomo 1,194 Posted June 30, 2023 Hey guys I want to ask, you who are doing the pre op liquid diet. So you get drained being in the sun? I get dizzy and a little delirious. Anyone else experience anything like this?I did experience a little dizziness even without the sun. Far lower calories compared to what I used to intake prior to pre-op and slight dehydration. Even on a liquid diet, still try to get in as much Water as you can. At least 64 ounces. Many foods, like fruits and vegetables, give us needed hydration but that is not allowed on liquid diets. The sun will just add to your dehydration so keep sipping on liquids. If you experience serious symptoms, don't hesitate to contact your doctor or go to ER. 2 Arabesque and ltdaniel reacted to this
TheMe-ISee 3 Posted July 5, 2023 I could barely spend an hour out in the sun and felt light-headed. It did make me more thirsty which is a good thing!
Fred in Pa 234 Posted July 5, 2023 The preop diet puts you at a severe calorie deficit in order to shrink your liver by forcing it to give up fat. And this can be very shocking to the body. You’re also preparing for a major surgery on the body so I would just take it easy. I did a lot of Internet surfing and general office work.
Caitlinhn 1 Posted July 14, 2023 I did not realize this but these low calorie and very low carb diets can cause dehydration (something about Water hangs out with the carbs in your blood, less carbs means less fluid). So I felt like crap until I realized that and upped my water intake. Good luck!
