The post-op acne had started. My skin is fickle to begin with, and I've worked so hard with my dermatologist to clear up my hormonal acne and now.... Please tell me it gets better.

Once your hormonal flush evens out the acne should disappear so about when you lose the bulk of your weight.

I’m almost 58 & I was complaining the other day about a big blind pimple on my chin. Waah! Can’t blame what I eat & can’t blame hormones anymore. Just life unfortunately.

Is this hormonal flush the cause of flipping hot flashes? I swear it's insane. I've always tended towards cold, and especially the last couple years as I no longer have a thyroid. But the last couple mornings I've driven to work with AC on full blast, and surprised there isn't flakes in the car, lol. I mean, yeah I'm in AL, but not sure I've ever had my AC in my car set to 62 before, LOL.

I've been getting some periods of be extremely hot and then extremely cold. I would think with increased estrogen it would make hot flashes go away. Maybe our bodies are just having a hard time regulating our temperatures

The oestrogen made my hot flushes & other menopausal symptoms go away @LindsayT. Unfortunately, they came back when my weight settled. I was on HRT but I still got (& get) the odd breakthrough symptom. But yes your body may be having trouble self regulating temperature.

PS - A hot flush feels different than feeling hot or feeling the heat. It’s like a sudden wave of internal heat radiating out of your body & equally sudden sweating. Sometimes it was my whole body & sometimes just my face.

I have definitely had the odd hot flash. It feels like I'm going to externally combust. Not a comfortable feeling.

Yep that’s hot flush. Definitely not comfortable. Maybe chat with your doctor or gyno & get a blood test to check your hormone levels too.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
