Any suggestions on baby food flavors

Recommended Posts

Does anyone have any recomendations for baby foods? going into week 2 and would like to find some meat and veggie babyfoods that are not horrible to eat. I am focused on the idea of "food is fuel" so it doesnt have to be the best flavor ever but If anyone has suggestions on what they liked that would be great.

we were allowed to eat baby food, but I just couldn't even fathom it - it sounded so disgusting (odd that we feed our babies that, though!!)

Honestly, baby food is awful. You're better off to puree your own food. meat in a crock pot is super moist and usually has liquid. This is ideal for puree. Ricotta bake is fantastic. Cooked veg purée nicely. You have options other than baby food. With that said, if you want to go that route, you can. I just don't have any good recommendations.

Their tastes aren't as developed as ours. But there is a reason they shiver and make faces sometimes.

Beech nut naturals have no artificial ingredients and GMO free. Same with Gerber organics.

My nutritionist said baby food is for babies. It is formulated for babies so it does not have the amounts of nutrients that an adult may need. However, i will ocasionally will have gerber blueberry pear. I think it is delicious. Just buy a can of no sugar added carrots and put them in a blender! I also pureed canned chicken breast and put a little no sugar added Ray's BBQ Sauce on it! Super yum and im sure better than baby food!

They do have pureed baby food meat. Not good...so not good. I never made my babies eat it, I always pureed whatever meat we were having.

I had a couple of baby food meals during purée stage. They were okay & handy to have on a day when purées were unpalatable or I couldn’t be bothered puréeing something. Yes, they are bland (low salt, low sugar, no spice) but it was fine for my sensitive tummy & tastebuds at that stage. If you think they’re too bland add some of your own spices to up the flavour. I just chose flavours I would enjoy as a real meal so yes meat & veges. I looked for organic brands & the ones that had the highest Protein content (it’s not a lot though so don’t rely on them for most or all meals). They still have a good balance of nutrients because babies need as much, or more, nutritious food as we do - they’re just in smaller portions.

Thank you. I picked up a couple to try.

I will try the bbq. I am not planning on living off baby food. just looking for an alternative to having to run the Ninja for every meal. THanks for the tip!
